Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 174

Colton and Cormac peered up with wide eyes at Drusilla, eagerly awaiting her lead.

The two kids were always keen to follow Drusilla's instructions. If she said no playing outside, that was the law for them.

Drusilla worried that spending too much time with the children might give her away. To play it cool, she reached out and ruffled Cormac's hair with a smile. "Off you go!"

At Drusilla's words, Cormac grabbed Colton's hand, and followed Blythe and Lilith inside the house.

Just as he was about to step through the door, Colton cast a longing glance back at Drusilla. He felt a pang of jealousy; his mom had tousled Cormac's hair but hadn't touched his!

...

Once the children had left, Drusilla let out a sigh and went inside as well.

Knowing Lilith wasn't exactly her biggest fan, Drusilla didn't bother seeking her out to avoid any unnecessary drama, especially not in front of the kids.

Instead, she headed upstairs and found Wendell there. It was the perfect opportunity to spend some time with him.

While playing a game of chess with Wendell, Lilith appeared. She paused upon seeing Drusilla, then shifted her gaze to Wendell and affectionately said, "Great-grandpa."

Wendell looked at Lilith and asked, "And who might this be?"

Lilith's lips twitched in frustration. It seemed every time Wendell saw her, she had to reintroduce herself, yet Drusilla never had to.

With a hint of grace, Drusilla introduced, "This is Lilith. How can you forget?"

"Oh," Wendell murmured, not quite showing whether he remembered or not, and then asked Lilith, "What's up?"

Their mom's here!

Colton had been sulking about not getting his head patted by Drusilla but seeing her now lifted his spirits. He walked towards Drusilla, then hesitated, remembering her warning not to call her 'mom' in front of Lilith.

Lilith, pleased to see the kids approaching their great-grandpa, thought to herself how well-behaved they were. She proudly pointed out to Wendell, "Look at them, don't they remind you of someone?"

Wendell's attention, already captured by the charming faces of the boys, lit up, "They're Enoch's kids!"

Enoch's kids were already this big!

Lilith beamed. "Yes, they're Uncle Enoch's kids. Surprised? He's got two big kids now, and they're just the sweetest."
