Lilith turned to the two little ones with a warm smile. "Colton, Cormac, meet your great-grandpa."
Cormac, upon seeing Wendell, felt an instant connection and cheerfully exclaimed, "Hi, Great-grandpa!"
Colton, catching a glimpse of Drusilla's expression, hesitantly followed suit.
Wendell, unable to contain his excitement, put aside his chess game and pulled the children closer. "Come here, let me have a good look at you. Oh, it's wonderful, our family finally has kids!"
Drusilla sat to the side, watching Wendell's fondness for the children. It warmed her heart.
From the moment of their birth, these kids, it seemed, weren't exactly welcomed with open arms, often met with disdain.
But now... in the Taylor family, they were cherished.
Lilith, standing aside, observed Wendell's affection for the children, her gaze then shifting to Drusilla.
Drusilla thought she was the beloved one here?
Well, let's show her where she really stands in this family! Compared to these kids, she's not even worth mentioning!
After spending some time with the children, Wendell, visibly moved, gestured for Drusilla to come over. "Odette, come here."
Drusilla approached and sat next to Wendell, her eyes moving between Wendell and her children.
Wendell gently patted Drusilla's hand. "You've done well! Bringing such wonderful children into the Taylor family."
Drusilla was speechless.
Lilith was equally shocked.
Hearing Wendell's words almost threw Drusilla off balance. She had been putting up a facade before the Taylor family, fearing they might uncover the truth.
But Wendell had just laid it all out in the open!
Drusilla, initially worried Wendell's words might stir Lilith's suspicions, felt relieved after hearing Lilith's response.
Lilith wouldn't believe the children were hers. In her eyes, Drusilla was a schemer, all her actions merely attempts to secure a place in the Taylor family.
Yet, Wendell's words touched her deeply.
Everyone thought Wendell was confused, his illness clouding his judgment.
But...
Why did she feel he was the one who saw everything clearly?
Lilith, standing aside, watched Wendell shower the little ones with love, feeling both relieved and angry. Relieved because Wendell adored Colton and Cormac, meaning Drusilla wouldn't be his favorite anymore. Angry because Drusilla dared to take credit for the children, deceiving Wendell.
But no matter, once Verena meets Wendell, he'll know who the children's real mother is.
