Drusilla caught Enoch's perplexed look and decided to fill him in, "When the kids came over last time, Grandpa Wendell thought they were mine."
It was only then that Enoch realized this misunderstanding existed, chuckling, "Grandpa sure has a wild imagination. But, maybe it's for the best."
Drusilla eyed him curiously, "How's that?"
"Well, Grandpa likes you, and he likes the kids. Let's bring them over, and you can look after them. What do you say?"
Drusilla was momentarily speechless. "Bring them over? When?"
"If you're okay with it, we can go this afternoon. My mother's been on my case about it, and I think it's a good idea. You'll come with me to see Verena, right?"
Hearing Enoch's proposal made Drusilla frown. She had wanted the kids to meet Enoch, and now that he was suggesting it, she found no reason to refuse.
The kids would be her responsibility, and she could stay at the Taylor estate with them. After all, she and Enoch were married.
But still...
She felt a bit guilty.
Living together every day, her being the mother would probably come out soon, right?
Seeing her sitting there, lost in thought, Enoch prodded, "You don’t want to? We have housekeepers, so you won't have to do much. But I'd like you to be their official mom."
Drusilla turned to him, "It's just that... you and I are going to divorce someday. What if we bring them here and then we split?"
"Divorce? Isn't that a bit premature to worry about?" Enoch said with a smile. "Besides, if that happens... there are plenty of people here to look after them."
He saw Drusilla's worried look and actually wanted to tell her they could stay married. But then he thought better of it, not wanting to give her the satisfaction just yet.
Hearing Enoch's words, Drusilla thought about the future, about divorcing Enoch and leaving the kids at the Taylor estate... Her feelings became complicated.
Enoch suggested, "Let's go for some acupuncture first. You've been treating my leg, and it feels much better."
Drusilla's face stiffened, "I feel a bit unwell, need some fresh air. You go upstairs first."
