Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 206

“What are you talking about?” Verena asked, baffled.

“He's digging into how you got pregnant. He suspects someone put you up to it, that you have an ulterior motive.”

Verena couldn't believe what she was hearing. “Is he insane?”

Drusilla smirked, “You still don’t get Enoch. You think he’s simple, but it's not easy to get where he is today.”

Drusilla thought, “So what if the children are his and mine? I didn’t have them for him. Thinking this could cement my place in the Taylor family?”

Drusilla was scared she might get swept up in the moment and regret it for the rest of her life.

After all, who can you really trust besides yourself?

Verena turned to Drusilla, “So, with Enoch snooping around, I won’t be in trouble, right?”

“What trouble could you possibly be in?” Drusilla assured her. “Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.”

...

When Drusilla arrived at the Taylor estate, she found Enoch sitting at the dining table, enjoying breakfast with his grandfather.

She walked into the dining room, and Wendell greeted her with a smile, “Ah, Odette.”

Enoch looked up, saw her, and Drusilla took her seat at the table.

“Have you had breakfast?” Enoch asked.

“I grabbed something on my way here,” Drusilla replied. “Had I known you were staying home today, I would’ve come straight here. Could’ve saved myself some money on breakfast.”

Enoch chuckled at her comment, “As if you can't come over to eat without me. If you ever want anything, just come. With Grandpa here, who would dare give you trouble?”
