"You wouldn't dare!" Drusilla snapped, her voice icy cold.
Douglas retorted, "Isn't that what Mr. Taylor wants? Oh, what's this? You're meddling in Mr. Taylor's affairs now?"
Aside from Enoch's grandparents and his parents, Douglas hadn't heard of any woman who could dictate Enoch's actions!
Enoch did have a fiancée once, Odette, but in these kinds of situations, she barely spoke up, mainly because Enoch disliked anyone restricting his freedom.
Drusilla watched Enoch downing his drink, getting tipsy, and knew this man was as stubborn as they come, though she had no clue what was going through his mind.

Douglas and the other friend watched the scene unfold, their jaws practically hitting the floor. Seriously, that's it? Mr. Taylor, you gonna let this slide? Do you let this woman boss you around at home too? Getting dragged back home after just a drink?
Seeing this, they couldn't help but feel sympathetic towards Enoch—marriage seemed terrifying!
They had heard rumors about Enoch marrying a divorcee, and it turned out to be true. Not only that, they assumed Enoch ruled the roost at home, but here he was, completely tamed by this woman.
