Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 269

Verena let out a playful giggle.

...

After tucking the kids into bed, Drusilla went to meet Enoch, but right at the bedroom door, she received a message from Verena. Opening it, she discovered it was a rather scandalous novel.

Verena's message read: "Bestie, you're welcome!"

Drusilla hadn't thought much of it initially, but now, seeing the message, she couldn't help but smirk. She took a deep breath and walked in.

Enoch was still in his study, not yet back. Drusilla picked up her phone and scrolled through the novel, utterly shocked.

Classic Verena, always into some wild stuff.

While Drusilla was engrossed, a new message popped up: "Meet me in the backyard."

Looking at the cryptic message, she had a good guess who it might be from!

...

Stepping out of her room and descending the stairs, Drusilla was about to head to the backyard when she bumped into Saskia, who was just coming back in.

"Ouch!" Saskia exclaimed dramatically.

Lifting her head and seeing Drusilla, she complained, "Watch where you're going! You almost knocked me over!"

"If only," Drusilla muttered, her patience wearing thin with every word exchanged.

Saskia scowled, but Drusilla ignored her and continued on her way.

Saskia watched her leave, curiosity piqued. In the past, she might have confronted Drusilla, but after Enoch's recent scolding, she dared not act rashly. She wondered, what could Drusilla be up to this late?

Curiosity got the better of her, and she stealthily followed.

Drusilla remained silent, unsure how to explain or if she even wanted to.

Previously, she had worried he might figure out Colton and Cormac's identities, but now it seemed she had overthought things.

Harlan continued, "You divorced me over those kids, I thought you cared. Now... you've married into the Taylor family, become Enoch's wife, and it's like they don't exist to you?"

Drusilla looked unimpressed, "My kids, my business. Why, you interested in playing dad to them?"

Harlan's face darkened at the suggestion, "They're your responsibility, not mine. I have no connection to those kids."

Drusilla knew... He never wanted those kids before, and now with his own on the way, why would he change?

Harlan, seeing Drusilla's silent reaction, thought his words had hit home.

He added, "Enoch treats you well, doesn't he? Why hasn't he let you bring your kids over? He's fine with you looking after his, but yours don't count?"
