Lilith and Harlan came downstairs.
Saskia took Lilith by the arm, saying, “No matter how bad you're feeling, you've got to eat. You can't just skip meals! We can't have our Lilith going hungry.”
Drusilla glanced at Saskia. Was she really worried about Lilith going hungry?
More like she was worried about her own grandson going hungry!
Harlan sat off to the side, noticing Enoch but not initiating a conversation.
He harbored so much resentment towards Enoch now that even pretending to get along like before was out of the question.
He really didn't want to talk to Enoch!
Saskia took a seat next to Lilith, about to serve her some food, but paused when she saw Drusilla, “I thought you left. What brings you back?”
It seemed as if Drusilla shouldn't be here.
Drusilla, seeing Saskia, replied, “Sorry for the return. But if you, a stranger, can be here, why can't I?”
Saskia retorted, “A stranger, am I? Lilith and I are family!”
She knew how to ride Lilith's coattails very well.
Fully aware that Lilith was pregnant, she knew exactly whose side to take. Then, her gaze shifted to the two kids nearby and to Verena…
Was she the outsider?
More like Drusilla was!
After all, the mothers of the two children had already been welcomed into the Taylor family's home!
She wondered how Drusilla had the nerve to show her face again.
If it were her, she wouldn't dare show up in the Taylor family home like that!
Drusilla sat on the side, peeling shrimp.
Blythe was also peeling shrimp, and after finishing, she handed them to Colton, “Here you go, Colton.”
Colton glanced at the shrimp Blythe placed on the plate but didn’t touch them, instead, he waited for the ones Drusilla had just peeled.
As soon as Drusilla finished peeling, he opened his mouth, expecting to be fed.
Drusilla: “…”
With this thought, she sneakily glanced at everyone else’s reactions.
Just then, Enoch spoke up, “Lilith, why aren’t you eating?”
Lilith sat there, her mood down, feeling bullied by the words of Enoch and Blythe, making her heartache.
She looked down, “I’m not hungry.”
Saskia coaxed, “Come on, Lilith, try to eat something.”
“Mom, I really don’t have an appetite. You guys eat, I’ll just sit here for a bit,” Lilith replied, choosing to just drink some water instead.
Saskia’s gaze turned towards Drusilla, she sighed and said, “Seeing certain people you don’t want to see can really kill your appetite.”
“Are you talking about me?” Drusilla took the bait.
Saskia’s tone was clearly provocative, aimed at her.
Feigning innocence, Saskia denied, “Not at all! Don’t put words in my mouth!”
Having been reprimanded by Enoch just the day before, she was somewhat restrained now, daring not to be too obvious in front of him.
