Lilith was sipping on her coffee, the rich aroma filling the cozy kitchen, when she heard Blythe's voice. She exchanged a knowing glance with Harlan.
They had just been discussing how Drusilla and Enoch had been acting today, and Blythe's comments only confirmed their suspicions.
Indeed, everything changed the moment Odette returned!
Just yesterday, Enoch was all about supporting Drusilla against Harlan, pushing Lilith out. And today, he's talking divorce. How fascinating!
Enoch, seated on his wheelchair, rubbed his temples upon hearing his mother's voice, "Weren't you spending the day with Colton and Cormac? What brings you here?"
Blythe looked at Enoch, concern etched on her face. "I heard you're planning to divorce Drusilla, so I came to ask. Is it true?"
"Did she tell you?" Enoch's gaze darkened.
He hadn't expected Drusilla to speak to his mother first.
"Even if she hadn't, it's pretty obvious how you've been treating her today. Anyone with eyes could see. Enoch... I just can't understand what you're thinking. You were so good to her yesterday, and now suddenly you want a divorce? All because Odette is back?"
Enoch remained silent, his frustration palpable. "Please, go back. We'll talk about this in a few days. I'm busy right now."
"Busy? I haven't seen you do much aside from sitting here, lost in your thoughts."
Enoch replied, "I'm about to get busy. Mom, can we talk about this later when I return home?"
His mood had been off since yesterday...
And he wasn't in the mood to discuss this with his mother at the moment.
...
Blythe sighed heavily as she exited, finding Lilith and Harlan waiting outside. They had been about to enter but decided against it, choosing instead to wait.
