Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 311

"Drusilla, fancy seeing you here!" Serge remarked, his tone carrying a touch of surprise mixed with a hint of reluctance.

"Well, my sister insisted I come with her, so here I am. Thought I'd get some fresh air. What brings you here?" he inquired, curiosity lacing his words.

Drusilla, upon hearing his question, lifted the water bottle she was holding slightly, "Just taking a breather, need a drink. Want one? My treat."

"No, thanks," Serge replied, "I just had something. You seem a bit off, though. Everything okay?"

Despite her attempt to mask her feelings with a smile upon seeing him, Drusilla denied, "I'm fine."

"What about the kids? Enoch still doesn't know they're his, does he?" Serge ventured, touching on a sensitive subject.

Drusilla's grip on her water bottle tightened noticeably.

She gazed out the window, silent.

Now that she and Enoch were on the brink of separation, bringing up the children seemed pointless.

Yet, how could she explain this to Enoch without mentioning the kids?

At that moment, she regretted her moment of weakness that led her to agree to let the children return to the Taylor family.

Seeing her discomfort, Serge offered, "If you're struggling to find the words, I can talk to him for you. It might be easier than doing it yourself."

"I'm getting a divorce from Enoch," Drusilla revealed, "So, there's no need to talk."

"Divorce?" Serge echoed, surprised, "But I heard the Taylor family was busy planning your big wedding. It was supposed to be quite the event."

The news of Enoch's upcoming marriage was well-known!

Drusilla explained, "That was just for show."

Enoch had reasoned that the more grandiose the wedding preparations appeared, the less vigilant Odette and Hestia would be.

Indeed, Odette had returned, and everything had unfolded as she and Enoch had planned. Everything was going smoothly.

Love that’s begged for never truly belongs to you.

Serge, intending to offer solace, realized his words might have deepened her sorrow instead.

"How about we go for a walk? I know a place with a nice vibe," he suggested, trying to lighten the mood.

"No, I need to be with the kids."

"Don't make life harder than it needs to be! The kids will be fine with someone looking after them." The Taylor family's children were never short of caretakers; Serge wasn't worried about them. His concern was for Drusilla.

"Really, it's okay!" she insisted.

As they spoke, a voice suddenly interrupted them, "Dr. Denton."

Turning around, Drusilla and Serge saw Oberon pushing Enoch towards them. Enoch was seated in a wheelchair, a blanket draped over his legs, looking at Drusilla and Serge with a complex expression.
