Enoch was still fuming over last night's debacle.
The thought of facing him today had Drusilla feeling oddly intimidated.
Oberon gave Drusilla a helpless look, "I'm just as clueless."
Mr. Taylor's thoughts were a mystery to him too.
Realizing Oberon couldn't offer any solace, Drusilla took a deep breath, mustered all her courage, and pushed open the door.
The idea of her being afraid to see him was laughable! What was there to fear?
It was just a divorce, after all!
...
As she entered, she saw Enoch seated in his wheelchair. She paused by the door, looking at him, "Did you want to see me?"
Enoch turned around, his gaze lifting to meet hers, "Did you tell your mother we're getting a divorce?"
He was taken aback by how quickly she'd spilled the beans!
Enoch didn't truly want a divorce; it was just that last night... he was too angry!
To think Odette was one thing, but she...
He adored her, yet she'd stabbed him right in the heart.
Drusilla replied, "She asked, so I told her. Should I not have?"
They had, she believed, reached a mutual understanding about the divorce.
Enoch, still in his wheelchair, scoffed at Drusilla, "No, you did right in telling."
She was evidently in a hurry to get the divorce over with! Not a hint of reluctance.
Drusilla said, "I noticed you've been busy with work lately. We can deal with the divorce papers once you're less occupied. Also... I won't be coming home these next few days."
She couldn't bear the thought of returning to the Taylor residence!
