Drusilla rolled her eyes at Blythe and said, “You know, this world’s just full of shameless people. You get used to it after a while.”
Odette, sitting nearby, couldn’t help but chuckle as Drusilla and Blythe exchanged barbs.
She looked at Drusilla and said, “Look at you, all grown-up and successful! But, honey, I think you’ve got something twisted. If I hadn’t decided to stay single, where would you stand a chance of marrying Enoch?”
After all, Enoch was just a man in a wheelchair, and Drusilla was treating him like he was some kind of treasure!
Odette continued, “You’ve been sucking up to their family, but I heard through the grapevine that you’re planning to divorce Enoch?”
These rumors came from Lilith.
Apparently, as soon as she returned, Enoch was supposed to file for divorce from Drusilla!
Now, she really wondered what Drusilla had to be so proud of!
Well, being a twice-wed woman, she probably couldn’t marry anyone else. Naturally, she treasured Enoch!
And she was even buttering up Blythe!
Blythe, hearing Odette stepping on Drusilla, quickly defended her, “Don’t worry, Drusilla won’t be divorcing Enoch! Especially not for someone like you.”
She had made up her mind; she would go along with Enoch on everything but... divorce was off the table!
Odette said, “We’ll see. I’ll be off then!”
With a sigh and a helpless look towards Drusilla, Odette left.
Ah…
Drusilla used to be so proud, and now, to end up married to a disabled man, how tragic!
Thinking this, Odette suddenly felt better.
After all, the worse her sister’s life was, the happier she felt!
Why? Because every time she performed poorly in school, people compared her to Drusilla.
