Drusilla's heart skipped a beat when she heard Enoch's voice, bringing back the memory of Lilith's recent trip to the hospital. It seemed Enoch was out of the loop. "Lilith had a nasty fall down the stairs today. Had to rush her to the hospital," she said.
"Is it serious?" Enoch's concern was palpable.
After all, he had watched Lilith grow up.
Though he had directed Lilith towards Harlan, it wasn't like he had washed his hands off her.
Drusilla hesitated, then added, "Not sure. But she's pregnant now…"
Enoch didn't reply, but worry was evident in his eyes.
Drusilla, noticing Enoch's concern for Lilith, felt her hands clench involuntarily.
Seeing Enoch's reaction sparked a nerve in her... What if Enoch found out she was behind this? He'd surely despise her!
Who could ever warm up to someone as vile as her? The thought that Lilith was in trouble and she felt no remorse was unsettling.
Just then, her phone buzzed. Glancing at the caller ID, she saw it was her father.
Standing up, Drusilla answered, "Dad?"
Enoch looked up, his gaze following Drusilla.
Leander's voice came through, "You at the Taylor's?"
"Yes."
"Come outside," Leander commanded. "I'm waiting at their front door."
Drusilla was taken aback. "Why are you here?"
"To pick you up, of course!" Leander's voice was firm over the phone.
He had mentioned last night that he'd come for her today.
Regardless of whether Enoch approved, he was determined to take Drusilla back.
