Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 343

"Why's he mad now?" Drusilla was at her wits' end.

Just hearing that Enoch was upset made her head ache. It felt like he was constantly in need of pampering!

Oberon said, "You should check on him."

With Oberon's hopeful eyes on her, Drusilla couldn't help but enter the room.

Stepping inside, she saw Enoch by the window, standing. Yes, standing. He was actually on his feet now, though he wasn't quite able to walk like most people yet.

Drusilla knew his leg issue wasn't too severe.

His struggle with walking stemmed from spending too much time in a wheelchair, leading to weakened leg muscles. He needed to exercise daily.

Seeing him from behind, Drusilla felt a bit dazed.

In her memory, he was always confined to his wheelchair, which had seemed like an extension of his body. And now, seeing him standing before her felt almost surreal.

She almost doubted if this was the same Enoch she was used to engaging with.

He was tall, and she found herself looking up to him.

From the back, the man had a stature that seemed almost divine.

...

Drusilla cleared her throat, breaking the silence, "You wanted to see me?"

Enoch turned around to look at her.

His deep eyes held a hint of coldness. Upon hearing Drusilla's voice, he leaned on the wall for support and made his way to sit down.

Seeing him like this, Drusilla approached and seated herself on the sofa in front of him, "What did I do this time, Mr. Taylor?"

Enoch said, "I heard from Oberon that Raymond asked you to see him?"

"..." Drusilla remembered her conversation with Raymond, and bumping into Oberon on her way down.

"Curing you is the doctor's job," Drusilla said, "I'm just here for your rehabilitation. And what, are you planning to live in that wheelchair forever? If all goes well, I think you'll be up and about in a month."

Enoch, too, was looking forward to getting better.

But hearing her talk about him getting better reminded him of their agreement: they'd divorce once he was well.

Drusilla touched her face, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Enoch said, "I need to get back to work."

"Then go."

"Aren't you coming with me?" He looked at Drusilla, clearly unhappy with her decision.

After all, what did she have to do at home that was so important she couldn't accompany him?
