Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 355

Drusilla nodded, "When I went to the hospital back then, all the papers were taken and tossed by Harlan. But I have people from the hospital who can testify for me. If I was really cheating, do you think, after all these years, that the father of my children would be completely out of the picture? The Stantons have done nothing but badmouth me without a shred of evidence. Harlan wouldn’t dare accuse me of cheating in front of his own family, would he?"

Saskia looked at Drusilla and asked, "If that's the case, why didn't you speak up sooner?"

"How was I supposed to?" Drusilla replied, looking Saskia in the eye. "I was all alone, giving birth to twins in a hospital. How could I have spoken up? Your son’s been living the high life these past years while I had nothing, struggling just to keep my kids and myself afloat. Do you really think I had the time to come to you? Besides, even if I had, would you have believed me?"

No matter what Drusilla said, Saskia was convinced she was just slandering Harlan, refusing to believe that Harlan was anything less than perfect.

Saskia retorted, "And you think telling me this now will make me believe you? This is just a story you've concocted."

"Enough!" Leander, who had been sitting quietly, suddenly shouted, interrupting Saskia.

Saskia was startled by his outburst, momentarily taken aback.

Leander glared at the woman, saying, "I married my daughter into your family hoping she’d have a good life, trusting that your son would treat her well. But the way your family, the Stantons, have treated her is despicable! Your son’s incompetence is one thing, but to falsely accuse her of infidelity? How dare you?"

Drusilla's eyes filled with tears at her father’s defense—it was the first time he had truly believed her.

Saskia was indeed intimidated by Leander’s anger. Over the years, he had rarely defended himself, mostly out of a sense of guilt. Now, knowing the truth, his temper flared.

In reality, he had no reason to fear Saskia.

With the tables turned, Saskia found herself at a loss for words.

She weakly protested, "How do you know Drusilla isn’t lying?"
