Drusilla looked calmly at Saskia and said, "Then why don't you kneel and apologize to my dad? You were just saying that his illness was his own fault, weren't you?"
The thought of Saskia using her father's illness against him made Drusilla so angry she could have screamed.
Saskia glanced over at Leander. In the past, the idea of kneeling was unthinkable to her. But now, thinking about Harlan's future and everything tied up with the Stanton family... If something really happened to Harlan, it wouldn't just be their family, it would drag Marcella's family down too.
Without another word, Saskia dropped to her knees and said to Leander, "Father-in-law, it's all my fault! I've been too harsh all these years, and I wronged Drusilla."
Leander looked back at her with a stern expression. "Enough of that. I don't have a daughter like you."
Saskia's actions, her willingness to kneel, were meaningless to him.
Saskia turned to Drusilla. "Drusilla."
"My dad said you could get up, so get up," Drusilla said with a smirk. "I certainly don't have a sister like you."
Marcella helped Saskia back to her feet.
Saskia looked at Drusilla with a hopeful expression. "So, could you delete the recording?"
"When did I ever say I would delete the recording?" Drusilla replied, puzzled. "Did I say that?"
"You..." Saskia was at a loss for words.
Marcella chimed in, "But my mom even knelt down for you."
"She chose to kneel. Did I force her?" Drusilla shot back.
Marcella couldn't believe Drusilla's brazenness. "How can you be so shameless?"
Drusilla sat back on the couch, feeling her father's gaze.
Leander looked at her, voice trembling with emotion. "Drusilla..."
He had just learned the truth and realized how much his daughter had suffered. Harlan, who had always played the nice guy, was anything but beneath the surface.
"You've been through so much," he said, his voice shaking.
Listening to her father, Drusilla replied, "Dad, it's all in the past. I didn't want to bring it up because I didn't want you to worry about old matters. But today, there was no choice."
Saskia had pushed things too far. If Drusilla continued to endure it, who knew how much more her father would have to suffer?
Leander sighed, "You should have told me sooner."
