Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 363

"Yeah," Drusilla said with a hint of nostalgia in her voice. "When I first met Enoch, I was taken aback too. I never expected Enoch to be the father of my kids. It's funny how fate works, isn't it? So, Dad, there's no way I'm leaving the Taylor family now, unless I decide to walk away from my kids."

Leander listened quietly, his mind processing her words. He had initially hoped Drusilla would sever ties with the Taylor family and Enoch for good. But now, with the revelation that Enoch was the father of her children, there was no way he could push her to do that.

"What am I supposed to say to you?" he murmured, a mix of resignation and concern in his voice.

Was this what they called a twist of fate?

Drusilla met her father's gaze, trying to reassure him. "Honestly, Dad, Enoch's a good guy. You'll see once you get to know him. Just focus on taking care of yourself. Let me handle the rest."

She knew her father was worried about her, and she wanted to ease his mind.

...

As Drusilla chatted with her father, they got into the car. The driver was ready to take Drusilla and her two kids back to the Taylor family estate. Just before stepping out, she turned to her sons, Colton and Cormac. "Say goodbye to Grandpa."

"Goodbye, Grandpa," the boys chimed in unison, their voices sweet and innocent.

Leander had already witnessed their charm and politeness during the car ride. He looked at Drusilla with soft eyes. "Bring them over more often, will you? I'd love to see them."

"I will," Drusilla promised with a smile as she stepped out of the car.

Watching the vehicle drive away, she took a deep breath, gathered her boys, and headed inside.

...

In the living room, she found Cybele Garner bustling around, seemingly in a rush.

"Cybele," Drusilla called out.

Drusilla paused, meeting his gaze with calm defiance.

"My child is gone, and you're happy, aren't you?" Harlan accused, his voice thick with grief and rage.

Drusilla met his eyes steadily. "What did I do, Harlan? You seem to know better than I do."

Harlan was seething. Lilith's loss had left him reeling, and to make matters worse, Lilith refused to see him, leaving him stranded outside her room.

"Maybe you should look in the mirror, Harlan," Drusilla retorted. "This is your doing. You’re reaping what you’ve sown."

Her words sent him over the edge. In a fit of fury, he lunged forward, his hands closing around her throat. "What did you just say?"

"Mr. Stanton!" Cybele gasped, her eyes wide with shock at the scene unfolding before her.
