She took the subway back to the Lawson family home.
After getting off the train, she sprinted all the way back.
As Drusilla entered the house, she was met with a chaotic scene. The once tidy home had been turned upside down, like a tornado had ripped through it.
Merrick and the house staff were scrambling to clean up, while Leander sat on the couch with a bandage on his head, Hestia crying softly as she tended to his wound.
Drusilla's feet felt like they were weighed down with lead...
She could barely stand, "What on earth happened here?"
Was this the "gift" Kendrick had mentioned?
Merrick answered, "A group of people stormed in and trashed the place. We've called the police, and they've taken them away."
Even so, everyone in the house was shaken.
Especially Leander, who had been hurt.
Drusilla surveyed the wreckage, recalling Kendrick's angry demeanor...
She had always known people as powerful as Kendrick were not to be crossed.
But she never imagined he would be so brazen!
Drusilla sank into a chair, watching as Hestia finished bandaging her father.
Seeing him injured pained her deeply.
This was just a warning, but what about next time?
What would she do if there was a next time?
Just then, a housekeeper approached, "Miss Drusilla, someone is here to see you."
"For me?" Drusilla was puzzled, but she stepped outside.
She found a car parked at the curb, the window rolled down to reveal Kendrick inside.
Enoch looked up as she entered, his gaze cold, "Back already?"
He was still sulking over the morning's events.
Drusilla didn't respond, nor did she speak to him, heading straight for the stairs.
"Stop right there!" Enoch's icy voice called out.
It felt as though, in his eyes, she was not his wife, not his beloved, but rather a servant to be summoned and dismissed at will.
She halted, asking, "What does Mr. Taylor want?"
She addressed him as Mr. Taylor, not Enoch.
She had always called him by his name before.
Enoch noticed her frosty demeanor, glanced at the children, and said to Oberon, "Oberon, take the kids upstairs."
He didn't want the children to witness any argument between him and Drusilla.
