Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 379

Enoch walked into the room, his face clouded with suspicion as he spotted Serge. "What are you doing here?" he demanded.

Serge flashed a smile. "Just needed to discuss something with Drusilla."

"And what could you possibly need to discuss with her?" Enoch felt a surge of irritation. Serge and Drusilla always seemed to have their own little secrets, secrets he was never part of.

But Drusilla... she was supposed to be his girlfriend!

Serge quickly changed the subject. "Did you come by to see Drusilla?"

He didn't want to start a fight with Enoch. Mr. Taylor might hear about it, and he didn't want to turn a friend into an enemy over a misunderstanding.

Enoch shot back, "Do I need to inform you every time I come to see my girlfriend?"

Drusilla sat on the couch, scrolling through her phone, barely acknowledging Enoch's presence. Her indifference stung, as if his visit meant nothing to her.

Hestia, standing nearby, tried to mediate. "Drusilla, Enoch came all this way to see you. Aren't you going to at least say hello?"

Drusilla replied coolly, "You're here to greet him, aren't you?"

Hestia sighed, feeling stuck. She couldn't rebuke Drusilla too harshly, not in front of Enoch. She glanced at Serge, someone she hadn't met before, and asked curiously, "Are you a friend of theirs?"

Catching the cue, Serge introduced himself, "I'm a friend of Enoch's. Drusilla and I went to the same college. I'm here for a quick visit."

Hestia nodded, "I see. Well, I'll leave you all to it. I should check on Leander."

She directed the staff to leave the snacks on the table and headed upstairs.

Oberon nodded, "Understood."

He stepped away to coordinate with the staff, ensuring the repairs were quickly taken care of. Before long, the damaged furniture was replaced, and the house looked as good as new.

Enoch asked, "Can we call a truce now?"

Drusilla replied, "Isn't it just typical? Break something, then fix it with money. That's how it goes, right?"

"What do you want me to do?" Enoch asked, exasperated. "If you think I should do more, tell me. What will make things right?"

Enoch felt a wave of frustration. He had come all this way, offered apologies, tried to make amends, and yet Drusilla remained distant. He couldn't figure out why he put himself through this, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to be there for her.
