Drusilla's frown deepened when she heard the term "little brat."
"Watch your language," she snapped.
There it was again, "little brat"!
Her son was no brat!
Seeing Drusilla flare up only fueled Saskia's smugness. "Oh, what's wrong? Got a nerve, did I? Your little bastard child, born from your affair! With a mother like you, they deserve every bit of scorn! Shameless, that's what you are. But then again...if you had any shame, you wouldn't have cheated, would you? Even your dad wants nothing to do with you, and yet here you are, still breathing?"
"If Harlan has the cheek to live, why shouldn't I?" Drusilla shot back, her anger palpable. "Your precious son was the one who insisted on having those kids. Now he's dumping all the blame on me? I'm actually thankful he gave me my children. As for him... he might as well give up hope of having a son in this lifetime."
"What did you just say?" Saskia glared at Drusilla. "You dare curse our Harlan, you vile woman!"
Drusilla laughed. She was the vile one?
Compared to Harlan, she was an angel!
Too bad his mother would never believe the real story about the IVF.
After all, in her eyes, Harlan was her pride and joy. How could she ever admit her son was a man who couldn't own up to his actions!
Saskia retorted, "Harlan must have been blind to marry you. But he's over you now, so don't delude yourself! If you dare bother him again, I'll make sure you're shamed every time I see you! You won't be able to show your face in Creston City!"
She had never bothered him at the Taylor family gatherings; it was always Harlan who sought her out!
"He's married to Lilith now, who's a thousand times better than you. Stop clinging to my son! He'll never want you again!"
Drusilla smirked, "Even if he wanted me, the feeling's not mutual! What use is a man who can't even father a child?"
Saskia, who prized children above all, was livid at Drusilla's words.
"Don't you dare tarnish my son's reputation just because you're divorced! My son is perfectly fine! How dare you curse him with infertility! Keep this up, and I'll have a word with your father, let him see the kind of daughter he's raised."
