Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 81

Enoch was taken aback for a moment when he heard Drusilla say, “Enoch, I’ve realized I’m really starting to fall for you, thanks. I should head back now.”

After she spoke, she left the building.

Enoch stood frozen in place, then looked up at Oberon. “Did she just say what I think she said?”

Oberon replied, “Madam said she’s falling for you.”

“Oh.” So, he hadn't misheard.

This woman was definitely in love with him!

Oberon added, “Actually, she is quite charming, pity she’s a divorcee with two kids. Otherwise, you two would make a good pair.”

Hearing Oberon’s words, Enoch absentmindedly fiddled with his shirt collar.

He scoffed coldly, “I don’t fancy her. What does her being divorced have to do with me?”

Oberon looked down, muttering an apology for his misplaced words.

Enoch decided to check on Wendell, who upon seeing him, looked annoyed. “Why aren’t you keeping Odette company? What are you doing here?”

Drusilla often used the excuse of needing to accompany Enoch to get past Wendell’s insistence that she stay over. So, Enoch showing up here only managed to irk Wendell.

Hearing Wendell’s comment, Enoch almost slapped himself. Why did he come here looking for displeasure?

He said, “I’ll be off then.”

“Go on, then,” Wendell called after him. “Hurry up and have a child with Odette. That’s what matters.”

The mention of children darkened Enoch’s expression. A child with Drusilla?

That child had better look like him! Otherwise, if they took after her, wouldn’t they just get cheated by men all the time?

Tired from a long day, she smiled at her child’s adorable face.

Cradling Cormac, she was about to drift off when her phone rang.

Groggily, she answered, to hear Cybele’s voice, “Drusilla, are you there?”

Drusilla sat up, suddenly alert, “Why are you calling at this hour?”

“Enoch’s had an accident.” Cybele sounded tense, “His leg is in severe pain, and he’s been rushed to the hospital. There’s no issue with your acupuncture, right?”

Despite Verena mentioning Drusilla’s excellent acupuncture skills, she was still relatively new, having only practiced for a couple of years.

Especially since Drusilla came recommended by Cybele herself! If anything went wrong, Cybele knew she’d be implicated.

Hearing this, Drusilla frowned, unable to fall back asleep. “Which hospital? I’ll go have a look.”

Enoch’s wellbeing was crucial for the future of her family, after all.
