Chapter 313
Aveline replied, “Okay, Fiona, thanks.”
After finishing her call with Fiona, Aveline walked out to the balcony and looked up at the vast, bright sky
As she watched, her heart began to calm down.
The phone in her hand rang. She glanced down and saw it was a call from Xavier.
She didn’t hang up immediately. She hesitated for a moment as it kept ringing, as if he wouldn’t give up until she answered.
She answered, but didn’t say anything.
Xavier chuckled. “Well, this is a rare occasion.”
Aveline knew he was teasing her for finally answering his call.
When she remained silent, Xavier said, “So if you hadn’t filed for divorce, you wouldn’t have answered my call, right?”
Aveline said coolly, “What do
you
want?”
“What do I want? You just filed for divorce, what else could it be about?”
“Wow, Aveline. You really went through with it.‘
Aveline got angry and said in a cold voice, “And you haven’t been cruel to me?
“This didn’t happen overnight. You’ve been heartless and cruel, you never cared about my feelings. I’m asking for a divorce, so what right do you have to accuse me of being cruel?”
Xavier was silent for a moment, then said in a low voice, “Aveline, I like you. That’s why I’m with you.”
“But you’re not honest with me. I don’t know if I can believe that you like me too.”
Aveline scoffed. “Xavier, get lost.”
With that, she hung up the phone.

She had just managed to calm down, and that guy had to go and stir up her negative emotions again.
A little while later. Xavier sent a text: I’m keeping the fact that you filed for divorce from Grandpa. I hope you’ll keep it from him too. Don’t tell him. J
Aveline stared at the message.
It seemed Xavier had used his connections to keep her divorce filing quiet and handle it discreetly.
Hmph, he probably wasn’t afraid of Rupert finding out. After all, the Patriarch knew she was determined to get a divorce.
He was afraid the whole city would find out that the man in charge of the was married and now facing a divorce lawsuit.
Aveline replied with a cold expression: [If I liked to run my mouth, I would have announced it to the world when we got our marriage certificate.]
[But the whole world knows you’re throwing money at some young, beautiful female director.]
Xavier replied, [You know why I’m helping Josephine.]
Aveline: [Yes, she’s the daughter of the other woman. She can’t be your wife, but you can keep her as your mistress.]
[She’d be willing, because that’s how her mom got ahead.]
As soon as she sent that message, Xavier called.
Aveline hung up.
Xavier sent a text: [Answer my call.]
Aveline ignored him and went back inside to grab a beer from the fridge,
But she hesitated, and swapped it for a bottle of purified water.
Her phone was ringing with an incoming call.
She ignored it, twisted off the cap, and chugged more than half the bottle of cold water. The simmering anger in her chest eased a lot.

The rimping stopped, but then a text from Xavier came through
[III only have one wife in my life, and only one woman I’ll keep And that’s you
Aveline sneered and replied I’ll get divorced at least once in my life, and when I remarry, it definitely won’t be to you
Navier There won’t be a divorce, so there won’t be a remarriage |
Aveline ignored him, tossed her phone on the bed, turned up the TV volume, and then looked for a variety show to watch.
Unless his family owned the court, if she wanted a divorce, how could she possibly not get one
Navier stared at his phone screen, and after waiting a while with no reply from Aveline, his face grew cold and he slammed the phone onto the desk.
Claude knocked and came in. “Mr. Beltran, Lawyer Chapman is here.”
After announcing the guest, he stepped aside and let Felix enter the office.
Xavier stood up. “Felix, thanks for coming. Come in and have some tea.”
As he spoke, he walked toward the sofa and gestured for Claude to make tea.
Felix, tall and thin with half–gray hair and sharp eyes, glanced at Xavier before walking to the sofa and sitting down.
Felix didn’t speak, and Xavier didn’t rush to ask, waiting until Claude brought the tea to invite him to drink

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
