“Isn’t it what you deserve?”

“Let me eat first. We can argue after I’m finished.”

“Who wants to argue with you? You’re the one who shamelessly forced your way in here.”

After saying that, Aveline walked towards the door again with a cold expression.

This time, Xavier didn’t stop her and just let her go.

Aveline went to Jasmine’s room. Jasmine, thinking she needed something, asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Xavier is in my room.”

Jasmine was surprised, “So you ran over here to hide?”

“No, can’t you just kick him out?”

“He’s a tall, strong man. How am I supposed to kick him out?”

Jasmine suggested to Aveline, “Why don’t we get Julian to kick him out?”

“With the two of us helping, it should work.”

Aveline was curled up on the sofa, “Alright, stop joking.”

Jasmine sat down next to her, “Didn’t he go back to the city? Why is he here again?”

“I can’t be bothered with him.”

Aveline picked up her phone and started scrolling through her Social Feed.

Then she saw Leona had posted a photo of herself with Courtney and Josephine, and the background was clearly the dining room at the Sutton family’s house.

Aveline and Jasmine never had secrets from each other, and since she was sitting right next to Aveline, she saw it too. Jasmine scoffed, “Is Mr. Beltran’s older sister being serious, or is this just more of her passive–aggressive sarcasm?”

Aveline said flatly, “Of course she really thinks that.”

Then she scrolled down, not wanting to look at those three faces for another second.

“Ava, didn’t you say you wanted to change your last name?”

“Yeah, I asked Fiona. She said I need the Household Registry to change my name, but Jacob and I are on the same one, and he has the book.”

“Oh, so what are you going to do?”

“I’ll have to find a time to get it. He can’t just refuse to let me use the Household Registry for official business.

Jasmine shrugged, “Judging by how much he doesn’t want this divorce, he might have actually gone and done it, just to create another obstacle for you.”

Aveline frowned slightly, “Worst case, I just won’t transfer my registration to Parkview Estates.”

“So you’re planning to buy a house?”

“But you have the money to buy a house now. A small one wouldn’t cost that much.”

Aveline sighed, “I guess my only other option is to transfer it to my maternal grandparents‘ place.

But my maternal grandparents‘ household registration is in Kralville.”

Just then, her phone rang. It was a call from Xavier.

She rejected the call.

Xavier sent a text, [I’m done eating. Come back.]

Aveline ignored him, planning to wait until it was time for work, go back to change her clothes, and then head out.

Jasmine said, “He must have something to say to you.”

Aveline nodded, “I know. It’s just that the Zimmerman family doesn’t think I was the one who saved Xavier.”
