Claude was stunned
No wonder Mr. Beltran is so good to Ms. Josephine. It turns out she’s the one who saved his life.
Just then, Marjorie reminded Josephine it was time for the next scene, so Josephine reminded
Claude one more time,
“Leo, I’m in the middle of filming, I have to go.
Remember, the next time Mr. Beltran asks you, say that you remember now, that I was wearing black high heels.”
“Or you could find a chance to tell him that you
remember.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll find a chance to put in a good word for you with Mr. Beltran.”
Josephine hung up as soon as she finished speaking, and Claude didn’t even have a chance to ask her why she had specifically told Xavier.
Those shoes must be important, or Mr. Beltran wouldn’t have specifically called him into the office to ask about them in detail.
Could Mr. Beltran be trying to investigate who really saved him back then?
So was it Josephine who saved him, or Aveline?
It had been over two years, so why would Mr. Beltran decide to look into it now?
Claude couldn’t make up his mind, so he called Gerald.
After hearing him out, Gerald told him in a confident tone, “It was definitely Josephine.”
“Mr. Henderson, are you sure?”
“I’m sure.”
Since Mr. Henderson said so, Claude decided he would still bet on Josephine.
He soon got his chance. When he got to the parking garage after work, he saw Mr. Beltran about to get into his car.

Claude quickly walked over. “Mr. Beltran…”
Xavier stood by the car door and turned to look at him. “What is it?”
Claude said, “I went back and thought about it carefully, and I remembered. That day at the hospital, Ms. Josephine was wearing a pair of black high heels.”
Hearing this, Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, looking quite cold as he stared at Claude.
Claude’s heart tightened. He wondered what Mr. Beltran meant by that. Did he not believe him, or was he suspicious of something?
Xavier said coolly, “Is that so? What made you remember now?”
Claude knew the words were out and he couldn’t take them back, so he had to continue lying.
“You specifically called me to your office to ask, Mr. Beltran. I figured it must be important, so I went back and thought about it carefully.”
Xavier gave a sarcastic smile. “Your brain is quite something. You just think hard and remember things you didn’t notice before.”
When Claude heard this, he immediately felt a pang of regret.
Mr. Beltran didn’t believe him.
But Claude could only press on, “I have a vague memory of it. I think that’s right.”
“Mm, got it.”
After saying that, Xavier got in the car.
Amy closed the door for Mr. Beltran, then gave Claude a deep, meaningful look before getting into the driver’s seat.
The black Bentley drove out of the parking garage.
Xavier tapped his fingers on the door handle, pondering for a moment before asking Amy, “What
think he meant by that?”

Amy replied, “I can’t figure it out either.”
Xavier scoffed. “Then look into it. See if Claude and Josephine have been in contact.”
Hearing this, Amy’s eyes flickered.

Back when Mr Beltran heard Aveline had deceived him, although he investigated it again and again. he didn’t actually see it through to the end. He called it off.
Amy found it strange at the time, but once Mr. Beltran got engaged to Aveline, he understood.
Mr Beltran had accepted it. Even if Aveline had deceived him, he accepted it. He didn’t care and still planned to spend the rest of his life with her.
But Amy noticed that after the engagement, Mr. Beltran treated Aveline even more coldly than when they were dating. On the other hand, he was quite nice to Ms. Josephine. He couldn’t help but think, why was Mr. Beltran putting himself through this?
He should just have a frank talk with Aveline.
But as a driver, it wasn’t his place to give advice on his boss’s personal matters.
Amy replied to Xavier, “I understand, Mr. Beltran. I’ll investigate it thoroughly.”
Xavier checked the time. Aveline should be on her way back to the city by now.
He sent her a text, [Are you back in the city yet?]
[Have you seen the menu I sent you?]

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
