“You must be tired from your flight from Entora. Go take a shower, and then have my secretary, Richard, help you get ready. The party is starting soon.”
Josephine was confused. Something felt off, but she didn’t know where to begin asking questions.
Just then, the secretary, Richard, who had been standing quietly behind her, came over. “Ms. Sutton, please come with me. I’ll take you to your bedroom.”
Josephine glanced at her and followed, deciding she’d question the secretary once they were inside the bedroom.
Inside the bedroom, several exquisite gowns were already hanging up, and a lot of jewelry was displayed. Josephine could tell at a glance it was all priceless.
Josephine asked Secretary Qu, “Isn’t this Mr. Wen’s suite?
It doesn’t feel right for me to shower and get ready in here.”
“Secretary Qu, please take me to my room.”
Secretary Qu looked at her. “Ms. Sutton, aren’t you staying here tonight as well?”
Josephine was startled and asked, “What do you mean? This suite is mine, and Mr. Wen isn’t staying here?”
Secretary Qu gave her a strange look. “There are three bedrooms here.”
With that one simple sentence, Josephine understood. There was no other room; she and Mr. Wen were staying in this presidential suite tonight.
Josephine remembered how Mr. Wen had suddenly pulled her into a tight hug, and the look in his eyes seemed to have that kind of intention. She instantly panicked.
No, she had to contact her mother immediately.
“Secretary Qu, I’m going to take a shower first. I’ll call you if I need help. Could you please step out for now?”
Secretary Qu glanced at her, nodded, and left.

Chapter 569
Josephine quickly closed the door and locked it.
Then she quickly took her phone out of her purse and called Courtney.
Courtney answered quickly. “Hello, Josie, have you arrived?”
Josephine said urgently, “Mom, I’m at the Crestmark Hotel. I’ve met Mr. Wen.”
Courtney was confused. “Mr. Wen? Who’s that?”

Josephine was startled, but then a thought occurred to her. Maybe her mom didn’t know who the mysterious person was either, so she said:
“Mom, isn’t Mr. Wen the mysterious person who helped us and arranged for me to attend The Blossom Gala?”
Courtney replied, “No, that’s not him. That person’s last name isn’t Wen.”
Josephine was confused and very uneasy. “Then what is his last name?”
“Josie, don’t panic. First, tell me what happened.”
Josephine quickly explained the situation.
Courtney was stunned. She shot up from her seat, unable to sit still. “Mr. Wen from the Wenya Group?”
“I know of him, but he’s not the one who helped me.”
Josephine panicked even more. “Then what’s going on?
His driver picked me up from the airport, his secretary was waiting for me in the hotel lobby, and she brought me to the, largest, most luxurious presidential suite at the Crestmark Hotel to meet Mr. Wen.”
“The moment he saw me, he hugged me. It was disgusting.”
“Mom, let me tell you, I met this Mr. Wen before when I came to Kralville with Xav for Alfred’s birthday party. He was very interested in me back then and kept trying to talk to me.”
“Mom, the mysterious person isn’t trying to set me up, is he?”
Courtney’s expression grew serious. “Josie, don’t be afraid. He would never do that. After all, we’re partners, and I have leverage on him.”
“I’ll find out what’s going on and call you back.”

“Then please be quick. Mr. Wen said the gala is starting soon and told me to hurry up and get ready.”
“Then you should go get ready. The female secretary is still there, isn’t she? Don’t be afraid. The important thing is to attend the gala.”
Josephine had no choice but to listen to her mom. She opened her suitcase to get her things and then went to take a shower.
When she got out of the shower, she immediately checked her phone and saw a missed call from
her mother.
She quickly called back.
Courtney answered and told her, “Josie, I found out. That person said only Mr. Wen can get you into The Blossom Gala.”
“He said that at Alfred’s birthday party, Mr. Wen took a liking to you the moment he saw you. He complimented you, calling you a social butterfly, and has wanted to see you again ever since, so he asked that person to set it up.”

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
