Gloria was sharp enough to sit down, calm down, and figure it out. The brothers, Devin and Jacob, must have conspired to not answer her calls or take her back to the city, forcing her to stay at Mount Ardwood and bother Aveline.

Gloria was so angry she slapped the sofa. She wanted to go find Aveline but didn’t dare to. Besides, she remembered she had forgotten to ask which room Aveline was in.

She sent a text to Aveline, 【Which room are you in?】

Aveline was out for a walk. She glanced at the message but didn’t reply.

When Gloria saw Aveline hadn’t replied for a while, she sent another message, 【Come to my room. I have something to tell you.】

Rupert looked at Xavier. “How did it go?”

As he spoke, he picked up a pitcher and poured Xavier a glass of water.

Xavier thanked him, drank half the glass, and then said, “Although Josephine donated blood back then, the blood I received wasn’t hers. It came from the blood bank.”

He put down the glass, took some photos out of his bag, and handed them to the Patriarch. “Do you recognize this person?”

Rupert took the photos and asked, “If the blood came from the blood bank, then it was from a donor. And I remember they said you lost a lot of blood, so you needed a large amount. It probably wasn’t from just one person.”

“You were really lucky to survive back then, kid.”

Xavier replied, “Eric said the people at the hospital said the same thing back then.”

the blood bank.”

Rupert looked down at the photos, studying them for a while. “This person looks like a bodyguard. Not just tall, but strong too. Is he someone’s bodyguard?”
