With that, she opened a private dining room to her left; it was empty, and she said:

“I can even make a huge scene right here in this club and embarrass you and Aveline.”

“Don’t forget, I used to live across the hall from you in Winslow Heights. If I tell Aveline that you and I slept together, do you think she’ll believe me?”
