Lauren watched him and really wanted to roll her eyes. Rupert, having more composure, waited.

Rupert said, “Your company isn’t doing well. Have you told Xavier about this?”

Jacob replied, “Patriarch, I did tell him. That’s why I begged Xavier to give me the Eastwood Park project, but he gave it to Marcus.”

Hearing this, Rupert figured Aveline must not have wanted Xavier to help Jacob, which is why Jacob didn’t get the project.

“So, does Aveline know about your company’s situation? What did she say?”

An angry look immediately appeared on Jacob’s face. “Speaking of that ungrateful daughter, it just

makes me furious.”
