Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 745

**TITLE: A Divorce 745**

Fiona let out a long, exasperated sigh. “You really are that kind of person, aren’t you? Money doesn’t seem to matter much to you at all.”

As they exchanged words, Gerald found himself lost in thought, the weight of Fiona’s statement lingering in his mind. The more he pondered, the more he felt that Fiona wasn’t merely spinning tales; there was a genuine possibility that Josephine was indeed present at the Velvet Club.

But if she was here, why hadn’t she reached out to him?

With a sense of urgency, he quickly typed a message to Josephine, his fingers flying over the screen: *“Are you at the Velvet Club?”*

Meanwhile, Josephine sat in the adjacent private dining room, nestled beside Marcus, her eyes glued to the screen as he engaged in animated games with their friends. The sudden ping of Gerald’s message startled her, and after a brief moment of hesitation, she replied, *“What’s up, Gerald? Are you at the club?”*

“Yeah,” Gerald responded, his heart racing. *“Fiona mentioned she saw you.”*

His next words sent a chill down her spine: *“She also said Leona’s husband is here.”*

A wave of panic washed over Josephine. When had Fiona seen her? How had she managed to miss that?

“Marcus,” she whispered urgently, “I need to step out for a moment.” Marcus, assuming she was merely heading to the restroom, nodded without a second thought.

As she exited the private dining room, her phone in hand, she quickly messaged Gerald, *“I’m here with friends and just ran into my brother-in-law.”*

Gerald’s response was swift: *“Where are you? I’ll come find you.”*

“No, it’s okay,” Josephine typed back, her heart racing. *“You don’t know my friends. You should stay with yours.”*

Just then, Xavier arrived at the Velvet Club, his demeanor purposeful as he made his way upstairs to locate Gerald.

Josephine, emerging from the restroom, caught sight of him. Time seemed to freeze as her heart raced at the sight of his tall, commanding figure.

“Xav,” she called out, unable to contain herself.

Xavier glanced back, but the warmth in his eyes had vanished, replaced by an icy indifference. He turned away, dismissing her completely as he continued walking.

Just at that moment, the door to a private dining room swung open behind him, and a familiar voice called out, “Josie, what took you so long in the restroom? I thought you got lost, hahaha.”

Xavier hesitated, recognizing Marcus’s voice.

Josephine hadn’t anticipated Marcus emerging to look for her. Fear gripped her as she glanced at Xavier, terrified he would turn and see Marcus.

After a brief moment of contemplation, Xavier chose to ignore the interruption and kept walking.

Josephine, sensing the urgency of the situation, quickly pushed Marcus back into the private dining room. “Let’s go inside,” she urged, her voice barely above a whisper.

Xavier knocked on the door, and soon, Gerald opened it, a smirk playing on his lips. “Heh, you actually came.”

“Come on in. Our director was thrilled to hear you were coming,” Gerald said, ushering him inside.

With that, he pulled out his own phone and sent Aveline a message: *“I am at the Velvet Club because Michelle is here. I came to meet with her.”*

*“I’ll have Fiona stay with me, so she can be my witness.”*

*“Babe, don’t let your imagination run wild.”*

Aveline saw the message but chose not to reply, leaving Xavier in a state of uncertainty. He couldn’t tell if she had seen it or if she was already asleep.

Glancing at his watch, he noted that it was well past her bedtime. A thought crossed his mind: had Fiona genuinely been texting Aveline just now?

Turning to Fiona, he said, “You’re coming with me to meet someone in a bit.”

Fiona raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. “Go get Gerald.”

“Gerald would just make things worse,” Xavier countered, his tone growing serious.

Uncertain of who Xavier intended to meet or why, Fiona decided to provoke him. “Mr. Beltran, I’m quite expensive, you know. Much more than Mr. Henderson.”

Xavier shrugged casually. “That’s fine. I can afford you.”

Fiona scoffed, her lips curling into a playful smirk. “I want you to give half of your fortune to Aveline.”

Xavier chuckled softly. “Forget half my fortune; all of me is hers.”
