Urging Him to Get a Divorce (Aveline and Xavier) novel Chapter 809

**TITLE: A Divorce 809**

Courtney had experienced a miscarriage, a piece of news that, under normal circumstances, would have sent shockwaves through her life. Yet, in this moment, she felt an unexpected sense of relief. However, the situation was complicated further by Jacob’s sudden disappearance. The strangeness of it all gnawed at her; how could a father vanish at such a critical time?

Wasn’t this possibly his only son? Did he truly not care? The thought of Josephine, desperate to reach him and unable to do so, filled her with a mix of pity and frustration. How could he just leave her stranded like that?

Just yesterday, Jacob had been here, alongside Josephine, stirring up chaos for Marcus and Leona. The memory of their raucous laughter and playful bickering lingered in Aveline’s mind, a stark contrast to the current silence.

But as Aveline reflected on the situation, she quickly dismissed it. This was not her concern. Even if their lives crumbled around them, it wouldn’t affect her in the slightest.

With a determined shake of her head, Aveline decided it was time to focus on herself. She glanced at the clock and noted the early hour. Changing into her workout clothes, she felt the familiar thrill of anticipation. A run would clear her mind and invigorate her spirit.

As she stepped outside, the cool morning air greeted her, and she took off at a steady pace. To her surprise, she spotted Xavier also out for his morning run. Their paths crossed briefly, a nod of acknowledgment exchanged, before they continued on their separate ways.

An hour later, Xavier returned home, the rhythmic pounding of his feet still echoing in his ears. He walked into the living room and found Marcus waiting, sitting stiffly on the couch.

“Xavier…” Marcus began, his voice hesitant, as if weighing his words carefully.

But Xavier brushed past him, ignoring the plea for attention, and headed straight upstairs.

Marcus sighed, the weight of his unspoken thoughts settling heavily on his chest. He knew Xavier would shower after his run, so he resigned himself to waiting in silence, hoping for a moment of connection.

Half an hour ticked by, and finally, Xavier emerged from his room, still avoiding Marcus’s gaze. He strode directly into the dining room, leaving Marcus trailing behind.

“Xavier, I really need to talk to you,” Marcus insisted, his voice firm yet laced with urgency.

Xavier turned to face him, his expression cool and detached. “You should be talking to Leona, not me.”

A servant entered, placing a plate of breakfast in front of Xavier, then turned to Marcus, inquiring if he wanted anything. Marcus nodded, but when his own meal arrived, he found he had no appetite, his eyes glued to Xavier instead.

“Xavier, your sister wants a divorce,” Marcus finally blurted out, the words hanging in the air like a lead weight.

“Good,” Xavier replied, his tone devoid of emotion. “She’s finally stopped being foolish.”

Marcus couldn’t help but let out a bitter laugh, a mix of disbelief and frustration. “Xavier, I was truly set up by Josephine. You have to understand…”

Xavier’s dark eyes narrowed, his gaze piercing. Marcus flinched under the intensity, feeling exposed.

“Xavier, you’re a man too! Can’t you see how this affects all of us?” Marcus pleaded, desperation creeping into his voice.

“Don’t give me that crap. Just say what you want to say,” Xavier interrupted, his impatience evident.

Marcus felt helpless, the weight of the situation pressing down on him. After a moment of contemplation, he mustered the courage to say, “I love Leona. For Mason’s sake, we can’t let this divorce happen. I’ll have a serious talk with her.”

“My company’s project…” he attempted to steer the conversation back to business, hoping to find common ground.

Xavier’s cold response cut through the air. “After all that, this is what you really wanted to talk about?”
