Aveline replied to Valentina in a soft voice, “Auntie is very busy lately. You should ask your mom to go with you.”
Valentina was instantly disappointed. “Oh…”
Xavier sat silently in the front seat.
The gate to the Parkview Estates villa was already open. Helena was waiting at the door; Xavier must have told her they were coming.
Aveline got out of the car, took Valentina by the hand, and walked into the house, ignoring the groceries Xavier had already bought.
Of course, Helena and the driver wouldn’t let Xavier carry them; they took care of it.
Aveline saw it was getting late and said to Valentina, “Go play by yourself. Auntie is going to make dinner. If you get hungry, ask Helena to find you something to eat.”
Valentina nodded obediently. “Okay, Auntie. I won’t eat anything. I’m saving my appetite for your Savory Fried Rice.”
Aveline patted her on the head, then walked to the dining room. As she entered, she saw a woman in her thirties.
The woman was dressed plainly and said respectfully, “Ma’am.”
Just then, Helena came in with the groceries and said, “Ah, Ma’am, this is the maid Mrs. Beltran sent over. Her name is Charles Dawson.”
Aveline nodded. “Hello, Charles.”
Then she told Helena to wash the vegetables and help out, and she started making dinner.
She remembered her suitcase and said to Charles, “Charles, could you please tell the driver, Amy, that my suitcase is still in the car? Please bring it in for me.”
Helena, who was washing vegetables, quickly said, “Ma’am, Sir already brought your suitcase in. He moved it stairs.”
Aveline just hummed in acknowledgment and didn’t say anything else.
She just found it amusing. Xavier must have been afraid she’d run her suitcase upstairs first.

the Clear Fish Broth, and there was also a plate of Crispy Fried Pork Ribs that Helena had fried.
The Crispy Fried Pork Ribs were actually Xavier’s favorite, which was why he bought the ingredients. When Helena saw that Aveline wasn’t making them, she asked curiously,
“Ma’am, about these pork ribs?”
Aveline replied, “If Xavier wants to eat them, you can make them.”
Helena was confused, because Ma’am always used to cook for Sir personally. She had no choice but to go to the liv- ing room and ask Xavier,
“Sir, those pork ribs, should I fry them?”
Xavier was reading a business magazine. He looked up at her, confused. “Of course. What’s wrong?”
Helena replied, “Aveline wasn’t sure if you wanted any. She said if you did, I should make it.”
Xavier chuckled after hearing that. “Then go ahead and make it.”
So Helena fried the ribs herself, but she definitely made them differently than Aveline.
Aveline watched but remained silent.
She no longer had to wait on Xavier.
Once Helena finished frying the ribs, Aveline went to the living room to get Valentina to wash up for dinner.
Valentina happily hopped off the sofa and ran into the dining room.
Aveline led her to the kitchen to wash her hands, then personally dished out a plate of Savory Fried Rice for her and added,
“You need to eat some of your greens and fish, too, okay?”
Like many kids, Valentina didn’t like vegetables. She pouted when she heard Aveline and said,
“Auntie, just a little bit, okay?”
Aveline smiled and put some on her plate. “How about this much?”
Valentina nodded reluctantly. “Okay.”
Xavier watched and laughed. “You refuse to eat your vegetables when your uncle tells you to, but you’ll eat them for your aunt.”
Valentina replied with a grin, “Maybe it’s because I like my aunt more.”
Xavier chuckled and glanced at Aveline.
Seeing she had served herself and Valentina but not him, he had no choice but to pick up his bowl and serve himself.

Helena saw this and hurried over to take the bowl. “Sir, let me.”
At the same time, she found it strange. Why didn’t Ma’am serve Sir? Before, she always did everything for him her-
self.
Xavier didn’t hand the bowl to Helena, saying lightly, “You two can go cat. No need to stay here. I’ll call you if I need anything.”

When is the novel ending? It’s so unnecessarily long… not a single intimacy or connection just fighting and bickering from the beginning to end...
