Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 436

Chapter 414

Ashley was about to pull over and check the phone when Sam’s call came in.

Ashley picked up. Chase’s voice came through immediately. It’s me. I think I left my phone in your car.”

Ashley said coolly, Tll send you my location in a bit. You can come get it.”

“Okay.”

Ashley pulled over. Chase showed up a few minutes after she sent him the pin.

Sam was asleep. Only Chase got out.

He took the phone Ashley handed him. Thanks.”

Ashley’s tone was flat. “No problem.”

Her window was already rolling up, ready to leave, when Chase suddenly spoke. “I have to go on another business trip in a couple of days,” he said. “But I’ll be back as soon as I can.”

Ashley paused.

Their divorce waiting period was almost over.

She knew he was telling her he might not be back on the exact day it ended, but it wouldn’t be much longer.

They’d both been responsible for their last waiting period ending without a divorce. So, hearing Chase say all that now, Ashley couldn’t bring herself to say anything harsh. She just said, “Got it.”

She said it, then drove off.

Steve Jones and his family had other plans, so the next afternoon, Ashley, Tim, two of his friends, and Cindy who’d just gotten back from a work trip overseas all headed out for camping.

Gabriel wasn’t kidding when he’d said a lot of people would be camping here today. When they arrived, the campsite already had a bunch of tents set up, and it was pretty lively.

Gabriel had arrived earlier. He saw them pull up and walked over. You guys made it?”

Cindy’s eyes lit up when she saw Gabriel. She leaned into Ashley’s ear.”Whoa, hottie alert! You know him?”

Ashley nodded. She was about to speak when a voice suddenly cut in.”Mr. Reed.”

Ashley heard the voice and turned her head, meeting Matt’s deep eyes.

Gabriel saw Matt and his face just froze.

He totally didn’t expect Matt to be there.

Tim knew exactly why Matt was there.

Tim cleared his throat, a small smile playing on his lips.”Well, well, if it isn’t Matt. Small world.”

Matt just grinned, but his eyes were glued to Ashley.”Ashley. Long time no see.”

Ashley just mumbled, “Yeah. Long time,”

Cindy’s eyes lit up. She leaned in, a knowing smirk playing on her lips.”So, Matt’s here for you? You two… since when *

Ashley frowned. No way. Stop talking crazy.”

Cindy just smiled, the ‘I know everything” look plastered all over her face.

Both Gabriel and Matt had come with friends. Their groups chatted for a minute. But as soon as Ashley and Tim started getting their tent ready, Gabriel and Matt both, practically in sync, turned to Ashley and blurted, “I’ll help you.”
