Chapter 418
Ashley, Matt, and Gabriel had all prepped ahead. So, their tables were loaded with all sorts of top-tier ingredients.
Salads, red wine, champagne, pastries, and specialty drinks? All perfectly laid out on blankets in picnic baskets, giving their spot a seriously good picnic
vibe.
After getting everything arranged, Matt eyed the steaks, lamb chops, and assorted seafood he’d personally hauled over. He turned to Ashley. You like spicy? These Marbled Lamb Chops? Had a friend air-freight ’em in from out of state just last night. I’ve tried ’em seriously good quality”
Before Matt could even finish his sentence, Gabriel was there. He walked right up, handed Ashley a drink, totally cutting Matt off. “This is a custom-made drink I had made for you,’ Gabriel said. Tastes pretty good. Wanna try it?”
The drink was practically shoved in her hand, so Ashley just took it. Thanks,” she mumbled.
I mean, Matt had just been talking to her. She couldn’t exactly ditch him mid-sentence. So, she turned back to him. Totally fine with spicy,” she said. “No weird restrictions or anything.”
Matt grinned.”Good to know.”
She took a polite sip. The drink was legit good, exactly her favorite blueberry flavor. The blueberries were perfectly prepped, super smooth. It totally blew her mind.”This is delicious! I really like it. Thanks,” she said.
Gabriel, having worked with Ashley for months, naturally knew her tastes inside and out.
He’d had the drink specially made, tailored to her preferences.
Hearing she liked it, his grin widened.”Glad you like it,” he said. “I had them mix up a few different flavors. There’s also a raspberry one. Wanna try it later?”
Ashley:”Sure.”
Then she looked up and saw Cindy winking at her.
Ashley just blinked.
Cindy bit her lip, trying to stifle a laugh, and whispered to Tim, “Looks like I made the right call coming tonight.”
This drama unfolding was way better than any meteor shower, in her opinion.
She finished, then saw Tim was frowning, not responding. “What’s wrong?” she asked.
Tim watched Ashley, Matt, and Gabriel, totally stunned. “So Gabriel’s also into Ashley
You didn’t know?”
Tim: No, I didn’t.”
He literally just figured it out, okay?
It just hit him why Gabriel pushed for them to hang out. Turns out, Ashley was his target too.
Cindy:”…”
She glanced back over at them, then said, “Ashley probably didn’t catch on before, either. But now…” Matt and Gabriel, though, knew where the line was. They really didn’t want to piss Ashley off. After checking in with Ashley about her preferences, they headed over to Cindy and Tim.
Cindy saw them coming and snapped her mouth shut.
Mart spoke first. Mr. Reed, Cindy, wanna try my grilling later? I’m not much of a cook, but I can handle a BBQ.*
