Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 441

Chapter 419

Cindy chuckled, winking at her. “Tim said earlier neither of you knew Gabriel was into you. Now Tim knows. What about you?” Ashley’s feelings were a mess. Just figured it out myself.”

As for Gabriel? Even when he handed her that drink earlier, she hadn’t thought anything of it.

It wasn’t until after he gave her the drink, and she saw the rivalry and hostility between him and Matt, that she finally clued in.

Cindy asked, “Do they know about your situation?”

Ashley knew exactly what she meant.

She looked down, her voice flat. “I guess so. I specifically told Matt about being married, having a kid, and getting a divorce. As for Gabriel… I probably mentioned it at work too.”

Gabriel knew her situation, and he was a few years younger than her. So, when she’d just realized he had feelings for her, she was pretty damn surprised.

“Knowing all that, and still acting like this, I think they genuinely like you. After your divorce, you should totally give them a shot.”

Ashley didn’t say anything.

Cindy knew she probably hadn’t completely moved on from her relationship with Chase.

She was just about to say something when Matt finished the first batch of BBQ. He walked over to them, handing out the grilled meat.”It’s ready. Give it a try, tell me how it is?”

Ashley didn’t want to be rude, so she took it.”Thanks.”

She said it, then gently blew on the meat right in front of him, taking a small bite. Matt just watched her, a soft smile playing on his lips, his eyes glued

to her.

Ashley noticed. She felt a little awkward and subtly looked away.

She couldn’t let his effort go to waste. Ashley, a little shy, still took a proper taste. “It’s really good,” she said.”Thanks for doing all this.”

“Glad you like it.” He then asked, “Is it too salty? Did I put too much seasoning on it?”

Ashley shook her head.”Nope, it’s perfect.”

“Good.” Matt saw she was still a bit awkward. He didn’t push it.”You two chat. I’ll go grill up some more.”

Ashley knew her way around a kitchen too. She felt bad letting him do all the work alone.”I’ll help out,” she offered.

But just as she said that, Gabriel walked over.”Here’s the grilled beef I made. Try some?”

The guy literally couldn’t cook for shit.

He’d been so worried it wouldn’t taste good. Last night, he’d even had someone teach him how to bake it. He practiced seriously a bunch of times, last night and this morning. After it was done, he’d tasted it himself. It was actually pretty decent. Only then did he carefully plate it up and bring it over to Ashley.

Ashley froze. She looked at Gabriel.”You…”

Gabriel knew. She’d just figured out he was into her, and probably had no idea how to deal with him right now,

He didn’t push. His voice was gentle.”Just try a bite?”

Ashley hesitated, but took the plate.”Thanks,” she said.

“No problem.” His vibe was similar to Matt’s; he knew not to push too hard.”Still got meat on the grill. I’ll go keep an eye on it. This is basically my first time grilling, so if the taste isn’t quite there, just tell me straight up.”
