Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 37

“I told you, I didn’t push her.”

Naomi held up her injured hand.

“Someone slashed my wrist, that's why I pulled away.”

Zebulon’s gaze fell on Naomi’s bleeding wrist, and he asked instinctively, “How did you do that?”

But as soon as he looked at Naomi's face, he swallowed the concern on the tip of his tongue and said with an impatient frown, “How do I know you didn’t do that to yourself? Why would Tiffany have any reason to frame you?”

At that, the last flicker of hope in Naomi’s eyes vanished.

She had always known Zebulon was arrogant and obsessed with his image, which was why he was so dismissive of her, the fiancée his parents had approved of.

But she never thought he could be so blatantly biased.

Her wrist was bleeding profusely, the pain so sharp it made her eyes burn, and she desperately wanted to burst into tears right there. But in front of Zebulon and Tiffany, she held it all in.

After giving Zebulon one last, deep look, Naomi turned and walked away.

She was an artist; she needed her hand. Now that it was injured, she was terrified of the potential damage.

It was better to leave quickly than to stay and deal with such disgusting people.

Naomi decided not to return to the private room. She took out her phone with her good hand to call Colin, the host, but someone slapped the phone from her grasp, sending it clattering to the floor.

“Naomi! You think you can just walk away after hurting Tiffany? Didn’t you see Tiffany hit her head? Apologize, now!”

Zebulon glared impatiently at Naomi's hand. Her skin was already strikingly pale, and the amount of blood she was losing made the wound look particularly alarming.

He couldn’t even see the cut itself, or how serious it was.

Zebulon pulled Tiffany in front of Naomi and said in a low voice, “Apologize to Tiffany and promise me you’ll stop targeting her from now on. If you do that, I’ll take you to the hospital right away.”
