“Oh my god, Naomi, what happened to your hand? Why is there so much blood?!”
Colin had rushed over as soon as he got Naomi’s text saying she was leaving. He assumed she’d had another run-in with Zebulon and Tiffany and wanted to go, but he never expected to find the situation so out of control.
Colin quickly pulled Zebulon away, his face a mixture of shock and reproach. “Are you insane? Can’t you see her hand is injured? We need to get her to a hospital!”
Zebulon’s eyes flickered. As his anger subsided, a hint of guilt crossed his face. He was so used to being admired that Naomi’s defiance had made him lose control. He parted his lips, about to apologize, but then he saw Naomi coldly push Colin’s hand away.
“There’s no need. I can get to the hospital myself.”
“I’m sorry for ruining the mood tonight. I’m going to be very busy from now on, so you don’t need to include me in any future plans. Please let everyone else know. Goodbye.”
Without waiting for a response, Naomi turned and walked away.
Colin stared after her, then looked back at Zebulon. “Aren’t you going after her? Her hand looks really bad. Even if you don’t like her, you have to consider the relationship between the Hughes and Gonzalez families, right?”
A flicker of guilt crossed Zebulon's eyes, quickly replaced by irritation.
“I’m taking Tiffany. Naomi pushed her, and she hit her head. I need to see if she has a concussion. I’ll just take Naomi with us.”
With that, Zebulon grabbed Tiffany’s hand and started running, not caring if she could keep up, his eyes scanning the area for any sign of Naomi.
Back in the private room, Colin explained what had happened.
Jonathan frowned. “Zebulon is so clueless.”
No matter how much he liked Tiffany, he should have taken Naomi to the hospital first, considering how badly she was hurt. How was he going to explain this to the Gonzalez family?
“Hey, do you guys really think someone with Naomi’s gentle personality would actually push Tiffany?” someone asked.
“Bullshit,” another voice chimed in without hesitation. “Look how frail Naomi is. Even if she did push her, how hard could it have been?”
“Exactly,” Colin added with a frown. “You should have seen her hand. It was bleeding like a river.”
