Patricia couldn’t resist twisting the knife. Before Tiffany could retort, she skipped off to the barbecue stand to place their order.
Tiffany stood rooted to the spot, her perfectly manicured nails digging into her palms.
“Naomi!” she seethed, chewing on the name. The memory of Naomi’s earlier taunt fueled the malice growing in her heart.
That bitch was definitely just playing hard to get with Zebulon! That’s why he’d been thinking about Naomi so much lately. So, she’d learned a few new tricks.
But Tiffany wasn't one to be trifled with. When she wanted something, she got it. She would never let go.
Tiffany turned and walked away. She had to find a way to make a bigger move on Zebulon, and soon.
If she kept passively waiting for him, she’d never secure her position.
“Just you wait, Naomi. You couldn’t land Zebulon because you’re useless. I won’t make the same mistake,” Tiffany muttered, a triumphant smile on her face.
Zebulon treated her differently than other girls. She was just one step away from victory!
…
Naomi led Zebulon to the edge of the lake.
At this hour, it was a prime date spot. When Naomi turned her head, she saw a couple cuddled together and immediately blushed.
Zebulon saw them too, his gaze falling on the tips of Naomi’s ears, which were red enough to bleed. An idea flickered in his mind.
To be fair, Naomi was beautiful.
Her gentle, obedient nature made her seem as delicate and sweet as a doll, sparking a desire in others to protect her.
And to bully her.
