“It’s amazing!”
Patricia lamented. “If I’d known the perks were this good, I would’ve applied with you. Seriously, are they hiring security? I could take on two guys at once!”
“Pfft…”
A soft chuckle was heard. Patricia turned and saw two handsome men approaching.
“Aren’t you…”
Patricia recognized Lennon, but they had only met a few times, so she wasn't entirely sure.
“Lennon,” Naomi called out, slightly surprised. She saw an unfamiliar assistant smiling beside him and recalled her conversation with Patricia, her ears turning slightly red.
“Why are you here?”
Lennon glanced at Patricia, then took the car keys from his assistant. “I’m heading out. I can give you a ride to campus; it’s on my way.”
Patricia blurted out, “You call this on your way?”
The studio wasn't far from their university by public transit, but by car, it was a long, traffic-prone detour.
Naomi gently nudged Patricia, surprised by how loudly she'd spoken.
Feeling awkward, she quickly said, “That’s okay, Lennon. Someone at the studio told me we can take a cab and get reimbursed.”
It wasn't that Naomi needed the reimbursement money; she just assumed that hearing this, he would drop the offer.
But Lennon simply replied in a flat tone, “Oh. I’m the one paying for the reimbursement too.”
