You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 627

Patricia wasn’t going to let a single one of the Emerson family off the hook. She wanted them all to pay, every last one. She wanted their endings to be crystal clear—they’d know exactly why they lost everything.

Oliver tried talking sense into her, always thinking about the bigger picture, but Patricia didn’t care about that anymore. The only thing she wanted was revenge. She wanted them ruined, wanted them to suffer for the rest of their lives.

Forgive them? That would be way too easy.

In the Cloud Peak master bathroom, Patricia stood under the shower, water sliding over her head and down her face, making everything blurry. She blinked through the haze, wiped her face with one hand, and stepped out. Then, on the fogged-up glass, she slowly traced a name with her fingertip.

Ruby.

After her shower, Patricia towel-dried her hair until it was just damp, wrapped herself in a bathrobe, and headed straight to her study. She leaned over her desk, eyes scanning a pile of files and documents.

The door opened and Jackson walked in. Without looking up, Patricia asked, “Where’s Theo?”

The air still smelled faintly of her floral shampoo and body wash, the mix almost dizzying. Jackson got lost in it for a second, until Patricia called his name again. “Jackson.”

He snapped back to attention. “He’s in Southeast Asia.”

“Can you get in touch with him?”

“I’ll try. Might take a few days.” He hesitated, stealing a glance at the door. “Is there something you need from him? If Mr. Padilla finds out you’re looking for Theo…”

Wouldn’t he get jealous? Wouldn’t that just start another fight?

Patricia didn’t answer directly. “If Theo doesn’t show up, how is Ruby supposed to get what she deserves?”

She picked up a photo from her desk and held it under the lamp. In it, Ruby was standing next to a man, their faces in shadow.
