You Looked Down on Me Once Now You Look Up (Patricia and Oliver) novel Chapter 780

“Where are you right now?”

“On the highway heading home. Jackson’s here with me.”

“Keep digging. Ruby can’t leave the country for now. The assets are all overseas, and she’s stuck here. She can’t touch them.” She was worried, but some things just couldn’t be rushed.

“I’ll have the finance team look into it too.”

“Alright,” Moss said. “I’m organizing all their data from the past six months. I’ll email it to you in about half an hour.”

Patricia made a small sound of agreement. “Thanks for all your hard work.”

By the time Patricia got home, Chelsea was still a little dazed. She stood there with a steaming bowl of spicy hotpot, just about to sit down on the sofa and dig in.

“You’re eating that? Where’s Marian?”

“Johns came and picked her up.”

Great. Chelsea had thought that meant those two had patched things up, but apparently, it was just a false alarm.

Patricia eyed the spicy hotpot in Chelsea’s hands. “Give me half.”

“You’re pregnant. You really want to eat this? Never mind, I’ll make you some noodles.”

“I’m craving something spicy.”

“I’ll add chili to the noodles for you.”

“I’m not leaving. And I’m not planning on going anywhere,” Patricia said, her tone firm. “I’m not a hamster, you know. I’m not that easy to kill.”

Chelsea ran her hands through her hair. “If you were a hamster, I probably wouldn’t worry so much.”

“Hold the file for a second. I need a few photos. Of all the places to faint, you chose the office. If I hadn’t acted fast, the rumors would be everywhere by now. Do you want the company’s stock to crash?”

Hector snapped a few pictures with his phone, then sent them to the PR team to have a press release ready.

He picked through the fruit basket on the nightstand, clearly trying to find something he wouldn’t have to wash. He settled on a banana, peeled it, and kept talking. “All those execs at the company are too smart for their own good. A few of them have already been by. They saw Johns was here, but not Patricia, so now they’re whispering about trouble in your marriage. Some of them even think you two were just putting on a show, and now that Patricia got her revenge, you’re getting ready to bow out.”

Oliver tossed the file aside and, even though his voice was weak, managed to shout, “That’s crap!”
