"Huh?" Sue froze in surprise.
She'd been living abroad for the past few years, and honestly, she wasn't up to speed on what was happening back home. She genuinely had no clue that Winona and Tyson had already broken up.
Back then, she remembered how in love they'd seemed. Right after graduation, Winona had even talked about joining Tyson's company.
Sue had been so sure they'd be getting married any day.
And now, Winona was saying they'd split?
"Let me introduce you. This is my fiancé, Elvis."
Winona smiled brightly, slipping her arm through Elvis's as she spoke.
"And this is my friend, and college roommate, Sue."
"Nice to meet you." Elvis nodded politely.
Sue was still reeling from the news about Winona and Tyson, but now she was thrown for another loop.
Elvis?
Elvis Rogers—the Rogers family's golden boy from the capital?
Of course she knew who Elvis was. Her husband had been talking about him nonstop for days, going on about how he'd finally get to meet Mr. Rogers at the conference, and that if he could lock down a deal with him, it'd be nothing short of divine intervention.
Never in a million years did Sue expect that her old roommate—the one she used to squeeze into cramped dorm beds with and share cafeteria meals—would end up engaged to Elvis.
Back when Winona was dating Tyson, Sue had secretly envied her.
After all, Tyson was the heir to Goodwin Enterprises.
But compared to Elvis? Tyson suddenly seemed… insignificant.
It took Sue a long moment to recover, but when Winona gently tapped her wrist, she snapped back to reality.
"M-Mr. Rogers, h-hello." She stammered, cheeks flushed. "Sorry, I just…"
"Don't worry about it," Winona said with an easy smile. "You couldn't have known."
Honestly, if any of their old college friends showed up today, they'd probably still think Tyson was her boyfriend—or even her husband by now.
If she, Tyson's own ex-girlfriend, hadn't seen his true colors, how could anyone else?
Sue finally breathed a sigh of relief.
But just then, as she glanced up, her expression stiffened. Tyson was standing a short distance away, his gaze fixed on Winona.
Sue's mind raced. Was she trapped in some sort of melodramatic love triangle?
And somehow, she was getting dragged right into the middle of it!
"Winona, look, over there…"
Sue gestured for Winona to turn around.
