A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 217

“Winona? He’s not even worthy,” Jude’s tone dropped to an icy chill.

Celia froze for a moment.

She’d complained to Jude about the same thing before, but back then, he’d just laughed it off, barely paying attention.

Why was he suddenly saying something so out of character?

Maybe it was because he already knew Winona’s true identity.

Ever since Winona had shown up at Mr. Dalton’s birthday dinner, Miss Thorne’s real face was no longer a secret. And now, after she’d represented the Thorne Group at that major business conference, everyone was talking.

Celia figured Jude was probably mocking Tyson.

Remembering that she still needed a favor from Jude, she quickly chimed in, eager to please. “Exactly! Tyson has always been totally oblivious to his own shortcomings.”

“Alright, do you need something else?” Jude’s voice was tinged with impatience.

“Um… Mr. Quincy, do you remember what you told me before?”

“What was that?” Jude had clearly forgotten.

Celia cursed him silently before forcing herself to sound aggrieved. “You said if I ever wanted any sort of compensation, I just had to ask. Mr. Quincy, have you already forgotten about the child we lost?”

“Oh, you mean that.” Jude cleared his throat, suddenly sounding much less distant.

He still wasn’t sure whose child it had been, but he’d sent those photos that had scared her into a miscarriage. He couldn’t deny the guilt gnawing at him.

“So you do remember, Mr. Quincy.”

“Yeah. So, have you decided what you want?”

Celia’s expression stiffened.

That stung. He was right—Tyson was the one who couldn’t let go, always trying to win Winona back.

But she refused to admit it.

She’d poured all her energy into competing with Winona, desperate for the feeling that Tyson cared about her more.

She wanted to see Winona broken, devastated.

But now, it was Tyson who kept running after Winona, while Winona couldn’t care less about him.

And yet here she was, constantly worrying whether Tyson might leave her at any moment…

“Don’t kid yourself—just because you treat trash like treasure doesn’t mean everyone else does,” Jude went on, his voice dripping with scorn. “Winona used to be blind to Tyson’s true colors, but now she knows exactly what kind of man he is. There’s no way she’d make the same mistake again.”
