“Long time no see, everyone! How's life treating you?”
“Sue? What's with the random group chat?”
Instead of jumping straight to Tyson, Sue eased into it. “It's been years and everyone's so busy. I just thought it would be nice to catch up. By the way, I'm flying back home in a few days. We should all get together.”
“Sounds great, I'm in.”
“So what's everyone been up to?”
After a few minutes of small talk, Sue casually dropped her question. “Hey, does anyone still keep in touch with Winona?”
“Not really, but I heard she's working at Goodwin Enterprises.”
“Of course, she is. Tyson's her boyfriend.”
“Winona really lucked out, landing a guy from a rich family.”
Sue's expression hardened, her fingers flying across the screen. “What do you mean, *she* lucked out? Tyson was the one who hit the jackpot, landing a girl like her. And that bastard didn't even have the decency to appreciate her!”
“What do you mean? Do you know something?”
“They broke up! Tyson cheated on her!” Sue typed, her anger palpable.
Her message sent the chat into an uproar.
Whether out of a love for gossip or genuine indignation, the group unanimously condemned Tyson. The news spread like wildfire through their alumni network, and soon, nearly everyone from their graduating class had heard.
It didn't take long for the story to reach Tyson. Someone forwarded him screenshots from several group chats, all filled with messages denouncing him. Cheating was a black mark on anyone's character, and his former classmates were making their disdain clear.
His reputation among his peers was in tatters, and Tyson felt a bitter sting. He cared about his public image, especially now that he was the heir to Goodwin Enterprises. He had been a big shot in college, a legend whispered about by underclassmen for years after he graduated.
But now…
Gossip traveled fast. Soon, everyone would know, including the students who once looked up to him. He would go from a campus legend to a pariah.
He wanted to defend himself, but how could he? The affair was a fact. There was no excuse.
