A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 233

A sweet smile spread across Lucy's face when Winona took the lollipop. She looked like she wanted to say more, but the sight of Elvis standing beside Winona made her shrink back. Even though he wasn't looking at her, the man's intimidating aura was enough to scare her. So, without another word, she turned and slipped back into the room.

Sue, however, lingered, looking at Winona with a mix of pity and hesitation.

Just then, Elvis's phone rang. He was about to decline the call, but Winona stopped him, assuring him with a look that she was fine. He stepped a few feet away to answer it.

Sue moved closer to Winona, her expression a mixture of concern and heartache.

“Winona, I had no idea…”

She couldn't believe Winona had been in a car crash that had ruined her leg. She walked so normally that you'd never guess. But Sue remembered how much Winona loved to dance—and how brilliantly she did it.

Back in their freshman year, the student council had organized a gala. An upperclassman who'd seen Winona's dance videos online had tracked her down at their dorm, begging her to perform. Winona had finally agreed, and her performance had left everyone breathless. Sue had been in the audience, cheering her on at the top of her lungs.

But now… if her leg was injured, did that mean she couldn't dance anymore?

The thought brought tears to Sue's eyes.

“Hey, look at you,” Winona said, half-amused, half-exasperated. “I've stopped crying, and now you're starting.”

Sue, however, had another thought. The car crash was off-limits, but Tyson Goodwin's cheating? That was fair game. Just last night, she'd seen people in their alumni group chat praising him, talking about how young, successful, handsome, and rich he was, and how Winona had hit the jackpot.

Most of their college friends were scattered across the country and had no idea that Winona and Tyson had broken up, let alone that he had cheated on her.

Sue couldn't stand seeing them praise him.

After Elvis finished his call, he took Winona back to her villa to rest, leaving his men to watch over Yvonne and Lucy.

The moment Sue got back to her own room, she pulled out her phone and created a new group chat, adding a few of her closest friends from college.
