A Vow of Deception, A Vow of Revenge novel Chapter 64

Marcus couldn't help but wonder—did Tyson really dump Winona for Celia?

If he actually did something like that, Marcus thought, that would be seriously cold.

He felt a twinge of sympathy for Winona, but mostly, he was just eager for the gossip. He ducked into a quiet corner, pulled out his phone, and shot Tyson a message.

"Hey, Tyson—did you and Winona break up?"

No reply right away. Marcus couldn't help sneaking glances at Winona.

She was chatting with a group of girls, her smile dazzling, eyes sparkling—honestly, she was breathtaking. The kind of woman people would call a classic beauty.

Marcus thought, How could Tyson even consider letting her go? She's stuck by him for five years, given up so much for him, and now he's tangled up with his adopted sister?

Jeez, Marcus really couldn't figure out what was going on in Tyson's head.

After a while, Tyson finally replied, and even through text, Marcus could sense his annoyance.

"What are you talking about?"

Marcus blinked. "Wait, so you didn't break up?"

"Why would I break up with Nona? Where are you getting this nonsense?"

Marcus glanced over at Winona again, then texted, "Heard it straight from her, man…"

Tyson shot back immediately. "Where are you?"

Marcus sent the address, then added, "Are you coming over? Seriously, what's going on? Did you two break up or not?"

"Of course not. She's just mad at me lately, that's all."

Marcus nodded to himself. That made sense—no way would Winona just walk away from Tyson. They were probably just fighting.

If Tyson knew she was here, would he come?

Winona wasn't sure, but she knew one thing—she didn't want to see him. So the best move was just to leave.

"Mr. Ford, I just remembered something I need to take care of. I'm going to head out now."

"What's up? Where are you headed? Let me give you a ride," Mr. Ford offered right away.

"No need," Winona said quickly. She didn't want to ruin his evening. "I can manage on my own, I promise. Please, go enjoy the party."

Seeing she was determined, Mr. Ford didn't press further.

Winona slipped out alone, thinking she'd easily avoid Tyson. What she didn't know was that Tyson was already nearby—he'd jumped in his car the moment Marcus sent the address.

So, just as Winona stepped out of the elevator on the first floor, she found herself face-to-face with Tyson.
