Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 36

Reagan’s POV

Phillip returned with Sam’s phone and handed it to me. I thanked him and asked if there was anyone who could find me a crutch. “You’re getting a prosthetic. The best money can buy,” Caspian informed me. It would be great to get about independently. But I don’t know how long they take to make or how long i will be here.

Sam stirred. “Stay here,” I told Caspian, closing the door in his face. I hopped over to the bed. Making it just in time for Sam to sit up. She looked at me and screamed, then she curled up in the blanket and cried. “You promised. You broke your promise. You said I would be safe. They, they…” She yelled, not finishing her sentence. I reached over to comfort her, and she lashed out at me, calling me a liar and not to touch her. She was right, I let her get hurt.

“I’m sorry, Sam. I’m sorry. It’s all my fault. I thought you were somewhere safe,” I took a deep breath. “I just wanted to find my brother so much, I forgot about what was important.” I wrapped my arms around her whilst I apologized some more. “It shouldn’t have happened, but it did, and I will understand if you never forgive me.” As Sam carried on crying. I could hear scratching on the door. No doubt it was Caspian wanting to barge in and comfort his distressed mate.

“After everything I went through. Did you at least find your brother?” Sam asked.

“I did. What happened to you has made him furious, and he intends to set things right. No one will ever be treated that way again. You will never be treated that way again,” I told her.

“Reagan. Those men. They…” She tried to tell me what happened. But again, she couldn’t bring herself to tell me.

I pulled her closer to me and told her I didn’t want her to talk about what had happened. I didn’t want her to remember any part of it. “They kept laughing and saying that this is the Alpha King’s palace, and these were his rules.” She looked at me. “I’ve never met the Alpha King, and I never wanted to either. He must be an awful person to have had that done to me. I’ve hurt anyone.”

“You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to,” | promised her. As she clung to me, she asked who was at the door.

“It’s my brother. Caspian. He’s desperate to meet you,” | told her. But knowing he is the Alpha King, she may not want to meet him. Unless I give Caspian the chance he so desperately wants.

*I was looking forward to meeting him. But look at me, ‘m a mess. Is this your shirt?” she asked, taking a sniff of the shirt she was wearing.

She did just ask to meet him. “She also said she hated him,” Callan reminded me. I was torn and had to make a split-second decision.

“I love you, Caspian. You have one chance. Make it count.” I mindlinked my brother. It may mean a lifetime of happiness or misery for them both. But at least they will have given the mate bond a chance.

“Anything tell me?” he responded.

“If Sam finds out you are the Alpha King, you may as well kiss your mate bend goodbye,” I told him. “You’re now the head of security.”

“There’s a slight problem, Sam. I don’t know how you’re going to take it.” She looked at me with a worried expression. “While you were unconscious. Caspian announced that Zola was his wolf’s mate.” Sam looked stunned. “That’s why he’s outside. I wanted to know how you felt about it before I introduced you.” Sam’s jaw dropped, and she didn’t know what to say. “I know your feelings in the mate bond, and all he is asking for is a chance. If you don’t like him, he will accept your rejection and let you move on with your life.” Sam didn’t say anything, she just stared at me.

“I had a mate, and he hurt me. Would Caspian hurt me?”

She asked innocently.

“Caspian is practically a younger version of myself. I would be ashamed of him if he did.” She looked at me and told me she would think about it while she took a shower.

No longer was she the sweet, carefree girl who took life as it came. This version of Sam was not taking any nonsense.

“I must be crazy,” she said, taking a step toward Caspian.” You have one chance. Mess it up, and tam out of here,” she said just as her phone rang.

“Oh, crap,” she said, looking at me. “What do I tell Ellie?”

“I don’t care what you say. Just don’t tell her what happened. She may follow through on her threat.” Sam and Caspian snickered, probably at my discomfort. “What?

She threatened me.” Caspian’s smile disappeared. “Yeah.

Mess with Sam, and her sister Ellie will do the unimaginable to you.” This time, Sam snickered. It was good to see her smile after everything that had happened.

“Ellie is harmless,” she told Caspian.

“Yeah, harmless unless you harm her favorite person,” | said as Sam pressed the button to answer the call.
