Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 37

Caspian’s POV

“Sam suffered because of us. She may reject the mate bond.” I told Hawk, I hope he doesn’t hold it against me if she does.

“Us? You’re having a laugh, aren’t you? This is all on you. I swear to the Goddess if Sam does reject us. I will make your life miserable. Day and night, l am going to remind you of what you gave up for what? A cheap thrill.”

He wasn’t wrong. I struggled to breathe as I braced myself for the pain associated with rejection. As Sam’s lips parted, I was convinced the words that she was about to speak would break me.

“You have one chance. Mess it up, and I am out of here,” Sam said. I just couldn’t believe it, the Goddess must have been looking out for me. I looked at her and couldn’t speak in shock. Despite her past and what had happened earlier. She was giving me a chance. “As long as she doesn’t know you’re the Alpha King,” Hawk reminded me, almost ruining this special moment.

I was still in a state of shock when her phone rang. “Oh crap, what do I tell Ellie?” Sam asked Reagan. His response made me snicker. I had never known Reagan to be scared. No challenge has ever caused him to retreat or surrender. But here he was pleading with Sam not to tell her sister what had happened. This must be for Sam’s benefit. There is no way Reagan would fear any she-wolf.”What? She threatened me.” Reagan told me seriously.

Mess with Sam, and her sister Ellie will do the unimaginable to you.” His discomfort made Sam smile. I forgot all about Reagan when I saw Sam’s beautiful smile.

It lit up the entire room. I know it was the mate bond that brought our wolves together. But she is beautiful. Perfect in every way, and I love her.

“Ellie is harmless,” Sam told me dismissively, as she pressed the button on her phone.

“I am going to skin you alive,” a woman’s voice yelled through the mobile phone. Reagan was right. Ellie is a psycho. We all looked at one another in horror. “How does she know?” Sam mouthed. A door slammed at the other end of the phone.

“Sorry about that, Sam. William thought it would be a good time to tell me he was off sick for another two weeks.” We all breathed a sigh of relief, knowing she wasn’t talking to us. I could see why Reagan was wary of Ellie. “Have I ever told you how much I hate people?” she then asked loudly. Causing me to suppress a snicker.

“You don’t hate everyone,” Sam responded, rolling her eyes.

“Well. Maybe I love one and tolerate the rest. Either way, these humans are getting on my nerves. They’re so damned needy.” Before making a sound, Ellie conveyed her disgust. “I’m not going to make it for a while.” She said sadly.”That’s okay,” Sam responded, just as sadly. You could see how Ellie’s mood affected Sam. “I’m with Reagan at his home. It’s niice.”

“You’re okay, right?” Ellie asked Sam. Before she could respond, “Because if you’re not. If he doesn’t let you leave when you want to. I will come and get you, and I will kill him, slowly and painfully.”

“Ellie. Reagan is right here; he can hear you.” Sam told her.

*I know he’s there. I can hear him breathing. I want him to know l am serious.” Reagan looked at me, gesturing that Ellie was nuts. “I want him to know that if you get hurt in any way. My bag is packed, and I will follow through on my threat.”

Sam snickered before telling Ellie to shut up for being silly. But Reagan looked worried. “She’s fine,” Reagan yelled.

“She had better stay that way as well,” Ellie threatened.” On a lighter note, guess who came to town this morning?” Ellie paused for a second and snickered. “Your old Beta friend, Jaxon.” Sam gasped. I wonder which pack Jaxon was from? He is probably the Beta in the pack she is from.

That will be where the person who hurt her is.

“Are you okay? He didn’t hurt you, did he?” Sam asked, concerned. Ellie laughed loudly.

“It was really funny. This time, he brought a few of his buddies. I almost felt faint when they threatened to dounspeakable things to me,” Ellie said dramatically. Sam laughed. “Then they threatened to drag me through every pack naked before dropping me at the palace gate of the Alpha King.* Ellie laughed again. Why is she laughing?

Personally, I want to shout it from the rooftops and let the whole kingdom know. But Reagan is right. Sam isn’t ready.

I rushed to my office, planning our future together. Our courtship, her Luna ceremony. Our family. It was only as l stood in front of my office door that I remembered she doesn’t know I’m the Alpha King. That is going to be a tricky conversation. But if she gets to know me, l am sure she will forgive me; I told myself confidently.

The door was slightly ajar, and a light came from inside the room. I anticipated it was Phillip looking for the document he told me about. But as I pushed open the door, I saw Evelyn perched on the edge of my desk. She smiled at me before she carefully walked toward me. She was wearing a skimpy red bra and panties. “Get rid of her,” Hawk snarled. He didn’t need to tell me. I already knew – she needed to go. There couldn’t be any misunderstandings between Sam and me.

I rushed toward my desk, ignoring Evelyn’s presence.” Where have you been, baby? I’ve been waiting for you,” she said, smiling at me.

“Look, we have to talk,” I told her.

“Okay, Caspian.” She said, dropping to her knees in front of me, grabbing the buckle of my belt. “You talk, and I’ll listen.” I pushed her hands off me.

“No,” I yelled. Evelyn looked up at me and smiled as she continued to unbuckle my belt.

“Your majesty. I found..” Phillip said as he entered the room, holding up a piece of paper. He took one look at us and froze. “Sorry. I’ll give this to Reagan,” he said before backing out of the room.

“Stop him.” Hawk cried out. I went to go after him, but Evelyn clung to me like a leech.”Get off me,” | yelled at her and ran after Phillip. But by the time I looked in the hallway, he was gone. “ARGH,” I yelled. I have to stop him.
