Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 59

Ellie’s POV

I wanted to. know what Sam was hiding. But I was desperate for a shower. Before I headed upstairs, I asked Sam to get me a drink.

As I washed the dirt off my body, I imagined the terrible things she was hiding from me. “Don’t think the worst.

This is Sam you’re thinking of,” Kiki assured me. “You speak to her every day. How could she have gotten into so much trouble? Besides, I am confident Reagan wouldn’t let anything happen to her.” She said, fawning over Reagan. I swear she meets a male wolf, and she has gone soft. But she was right, and I had to give Reagan the benefit of the doubt as he had brought her home safe. It will be something that Sam thinks will upset me. But it will be nothing. She probably knocked over a vase and got scolded by someone.

As I got dressed, I questioned whether my pajamas were too revealing. But then I dismissed that idea, as Reagan had already seen me naked. What is more revealing than that?

It was after midnight, and I was not used to being up this late. I am more of an early riser, so when I entered the dining room, the light hurt my eyes. Sam and Reagan were making hand gestures and faces at one another. The hairs on my arms rose as I suspected they were trying to tell each other something they didn’t want me to hear. I took a seat and took a big drink of water from the glass on the table. “So what’s going on?” | asked. Sam looked at Reagan, but no one spoke. I was getting annoyed and began tapping my nails on the glass while I waited for someone to answer me.

Sam looked at her hands and then looked at me. “It’s hard to explain,” she said. I didn’t say anything as I waited for her to elaborate. She took a deep breath, “To cut a long story short. I have been offered a second chance, mate.” | gasped as I remembered the first one she had and how that turned out. Sam put her hands defensively. “I was against it. But he begged for a chance.” She looked at her hands again. “It was only fair. He shouldn’t lose the chance of a mate because of my experience.” She then

* Looked up again and smiled. “Ellie. I love him and I want to be with him. He makes me happy in ways I have never known. Ellie, I said, Yes.” She said, bouncing around.

I wanted to be annoyed, as she had never told me. But what would I have done? Tracked her down and dragged her home, fearing for her. Tortured him until he rejected her. No, Sam deserves to be happy. I want to make sure he is good enough for her, though. “Does he treat you well?” | asked.

“Very well.” She looked at Reagan. “It’s Reagan’s brother, Caspian. He has an important job at the palace, which is why there is to be a mating ceremony. Whenever he is not working, he wants to be with me. We talk and have fun.

The mate bond has even gotten rid of the nightmares.

Ellie, he’s perfect for me.”My mind went straight to the gutter about what he could. be forcing her into. “He sleeps with you?” I yelled as I squeezed the glass so hard it shattered in my hands. “If he forced you to..”! yelled as I started to feel the anger in me quickly rise.

“No. Ellie. No, it’s not like that. I sleep in the same room.” She quickly responded calmly.

“Phew,” I said, calming down instantly. I looked between Sam and Reagan. “Is that what you want? Is he what you want?” I asked as I started scooping the glass off the table. I looked up to see Sam’s beaming smile.

nothing to do with it. I wanted.”

“I don’t care what you wanted,” I screamed as my anger rose. I screamed as the pain in my head began to intensify beyond anything I had ever felt before. Sam’s screaming made me aware that my scent was changing. No matter how angry I was. I wouldn’t want to harm anyone. “Run,” I yelled through the pain. I needed Sam away from me as fast as possible.

I couldn’t think straight as my mind was full of questions with awful answers. Did Reagan know what they did to Sam? Did he knowingly put her in danger? What if Reagan didn’t know, and Sam tricked him into going? Sam put herself in danger for a piece of jewelry. No matter who it belonged to, she shouldn’t risk her life. That angered me.

What if they caught her again? What if they do worse things to her? Who would have known? Who would have cared? I kept hearing Kiki’s voice in the background, but it was so far away that I couldn’t hear what she was saying.Eventually, as anger began to subside. I heard Kiki’s voice calling out to me. “Sam’s here, and she’s safe. You are going to hurt her if you don’t calm down. Imagine all the innocent animals you are hurting.” The thought of hurting Sam was like someone throwing an ice bucket over me. I tried every technique I knew to try to calm down before I went and lay on my bed, hoping both Sam and Reagan would forgive me for my outburst. I cried, knowing I had caused them unspeakable pain, all because I couldn’t hold it together.

“If she had wanted her mom’s necklace so badly, I would have gotten it for her. I would have done it to protect her. would gladly have taught them a lesson they will never forget. That is my duty as her sister. I’ll remind her of that when I see her,” I told Kiki as I climbed into bed.

I looked at the clock, and it read 3.12 am. I closed my eyes, knowing I would have to be up soon. The next thing l knew, my door burst open, causing me to jump out of bed, fearing it was a burglar. But Reagan stood in the doorway panting. He stood there staring at me. “Reagan?” I said his name, glad he was safe. Or was he here to repay me for the pain I caused him? I was about to ask about Sam when he rushed over to me, my claws extended, and I was ready to strike. But he stroked my face gently that I forgot how to speak, then he leaned down and pressed his lips against mine. The buzz was so overwhelming that I forgot everything. Everything but the need to have him.
