Reagan’s POV
When I spoke to Ellie in the past, she had always come across as an intelligent and capable woman. She also comes across as a bit of an angry psycho. But since meeting her, 1 know the anger is because of her jealousy.
It wasn’t what I expected, but l am glad she was horrest with me, especially seen that we would be family soon. I hoped that when she offered a truce, things would change, and I would get to encounter the friendly Ellie that everyone else saw. But when Sam began telling me things that I shouldn’t tell Ellie, I got worried that our truce would be short-lived. As Ellie would be furious about Sam’s initial treatment at the palace. The basis of any friendship is honesty, and I disagreed with Sam. But it was her sister, and she knows her best.
When the shower stopped running, Sam turned to hand gestures to communicate. Which is what she was doing when Ellie walked in. I chose not to lie to Ellie, so I stayed quiet.
I watched as Ellie waited patiently for answers. I saw what angered and upset her, and how Sam pacified her. Ellie cares so deeply for Sam, it’s admirable. It’s just like I care for my brother.
Ellie is all Sam ever talked about, and I know how important it is for Ellie to be at her mating ceremony. But when Sam said something about her mom’s necklace, l prayed Ellie wasn’t intelligent enough to realize we had been to the Shadow Pack.
But this was Ellie we were talking about. She pieced it together in seconds. As the volume of Ellie’s voice grew, so did the redness in her face. I was getting ready to tell Ellie to calm down when Sam screamed. She fell to her knees, clutching her head. “Run,,”Ellie yelled.
Sam seemed incapable of moving, so I grabbed her and followed Ellie’s instructions. I ran with her in my arms until the pain subsided. As I ran with Sam, I couldn’t help but notice how many animals were crying out in the middle of the night. I slowed to listen. “Further. We need to get further away,” Sam instructed. The only place knew other than Ellie’s house was Ellie’s clinic. So, I headed to town. “The pain has stopped,” Sam told me as we approached the town’s center.
As I put Sam down, over a dozen dogs came running up to her, crying and whimpering. “I’m sorry,” she said, bending down to pet them. “It was my fault. Don’t blame Ellie.” She told them.
“What’s this got to do with Ellie?” I asked, not understanding why Sam would say the pain they all suffered was her fault.
Sam encouraged the dogs to follow her as she guided the animals to Ellie’s clinic. “They would all have run away from home when the pain got too much. I hope no one died,” she said as she opened the door to the clinic, allowing the animals to enter.
“What are you talking about, Sam?” I questioned.
Sam looked at me. “When Ellie gets mad, bad things happen. She can’t control it, and I know she doesn’t want to hurt anyone.”
“I don’t understand. Ellie hurts people when she’s mad?”
Sam looked at me. “No, she hurts animals. The very thing she loves so much. Which is one of the reasons she has never tried to join a pack. She could kill everyone within seconds if she was angered.”
“How?” I asked. Not seeing how her anger hurts people.
As I made my way back to Ellie’s home. I didn’t know what I was going to find. But I needn’t have worried as l entered the house. Everything was the same. Everything but the sound of someone crying upstairs. Sam did say she would be upset.
Callan whined, wanting me to go and comfort her as he felt close with Ellie and Kiki after they helped him. But if she was still angry, she wouldn’t want anyone to see her as vulnerable. Ellie doesn’t like to be seen that way. So, I went into the living room and lay on the couch. “When she wakes in the morning, I will talk to her. If she can’t hurt me, then she will have to listen. She can get as mad as she wants.” I told Callan as I closed my eyes.As usual, I dreamed of my mystery woman. Only this time, I knew who she was. As she touched me, I felt alive. The intensity felt stronger tonight, perhaps because her scent surrounded me. I moaned at her touch, never wanting her to stop. She grabbed my hair and rubbed herself against me. I closed my eyes and, for the first time, I managed to speak, saying her name made her smile. I woke up and said it again, “Ellie.”
My feet barely touched the ground as I flew up the stairs.
The desire to physically touch her was so intense that my body began to burn up. I pushed open the door, causing Ellie to jump out of bed. My heart pounded as I stood there, remembering every dream I had about her. Every feeling I had, as well as how my body reacted to hers. Only this time, she was real and standing in front of me.” Reagan?” She said my name, and I knew I wanted her to scream it as I made her climax. But does she want me as much as I want her?
“Only one way to find out,” Callan said encouragingly.
I rushed to her as if she were about to disappear. Then I touched her as gently as I could, fearing this was another dream. When she didn’t move, I took the opportunity | desired and leaned down to kiss her. If kissing her was great in my dreams, it was fantastic in real life.
Ellie ran her fingers through my hair, and I swear I nearly blew my load when she touched me. It was like a dream coming true. My dream. Oh, how I need this.
