Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 69

Caspian’s POV

Sam seemed calmer after Reagan talked to her. But once we were alone in my suite, she broke down. “What if Reagan’s wrong and she was taken by surprise? What if they killed her quickly? What if I never see her again?

What if.” I placed my finger over her lips.

Not knowing Ellie or why Reagan believes she is alive, it was hard for me to answer Sam appropriately. “That is a lot of what-ifs, Sam. What I have if faith. Faith that Ellie wouldn’t leave you.”

Sam didn’t speak. She just cried. Seeing her that way made her look so small and vulnerable. So I held Sam in my arms, rocking her backward and forward, hoping she would find comfort in the mate bond. I felt useless, all these resources at my disposal, and I was as helpless as a pup.

As we didn’t know Ellie’s last location, Reagan took it upon himself to go with Phillip to look for Ellie’s truck. It made sense, as she broke down somewhere on her way here. Reagan and Sam were the only ones who knew what the truck looked like, so it had to be him. I didn’t tell Sam, as she would have wanted to go to. But she was in no state to go anywhere.

I held onto Sam until she fell asleep. But every time moved, she stirred. So I stayed put. I talked to Hawk about how tonight should have been the night Sam marked me.Now, the only option I have is to tell her who I am, and hopefully, she will forgive me. But when do I do it? But what if she rejects me because I lied to her? Could I bear the humiliation if she did it in front of everyone? It didn’t matter what anyone thought as long as she forgave me.

“There is one good thing to come of this, regardless Sam accepts or rejects us,” Hawk said enthusiastically. “Those animals from the Shadow Pack that hurt her will be here.” It hurt knowing anyone would attempt to harm my sweet and innocent Sam. But then I smiled, understanding Hawk’s train of thought. “I could give their heads to Sam as a mating present. Sam is so sweet-natured, though I am not sure she would want anyone killed because of her.

No matter her decision, I will set an example of them. It will serve as a warning to anyone who even thinks about hurting her in the future.” I told Hawk, who was annoyed as he wanted to give the Shadow Pack’s Alpha and Luna’s dead bodies to Zola. He wanted to show that she is protected.

I hope she chooses love over fear. “Tomorrow, Sam, you will have to choose, and I hope you choose me. Forever.” I whispered before kissing her hair. That happy thought made me grip her tighter, inhaling her desirable scent.

I woke up with Sam still in my arms. She was wide-eyed and looking hopeful at me. She nuzzled her nose into my neck. “I’m sorry about last night. I was so overwhelmed by the news. I just can’t lose her. Caspian, please tell me. Has she been found?” Sam asked. I shook my head, which caused her to cry. So, I pulled her face to mine and kissed her. She wrapped her arms around me, not letting me go.

“Reagan should be back soon with her truck. Hopefully, he Will have some news,” I said, ushering her into the bathroom. When she returned, she had a towel wrapped around her body. She looked so sad, her eyes were all red and puffy. She must have been crying again while she was in the shower. Trushed over and held her, Which was when, for the first time, I touched the scars on her back. 1 knew she had scars; I had seen them. But Sam never let me close enough to touch them. I didn’t push the matter as I didn’t want to cause her any distress. I always felt that when she was ready, she would let me worship her body, no matter how much she hated it. “They are so dead,” | growled at Hawk.

“Caspian, you’re hurting me,” Sam cried, causing me to release her. I hadn’t realized I was holding her so tightly.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. I was just getting frustrated with the situation with Richard and Ellie.” I lied. She walked back to me so I could hold her again, “Sam, as soon as Ellie gets here. We find someone else to officiate the ceremony, and we do it.” I told her.

“As soon as Ellie gets here. I need a few minutes to change, and then we’ll get started. I have a surprise for you.” She told me, which excited me. What surprise could she possibly have for me? “But Caspian, what if she doesn’t get here?”

“Sam, Ellie will turn up when you least expect it. But the second she gets here,” I pulled her towards me. “You’re mine and I am yours,” I said, leaning down and kissing her, causing her to giggle. ‘Please, Goddess, help Ellie get here safely. I will never ask for anything ever again. I promise! I prayed silently.

“‘I ve got to go. Reagan has just returned, and he wants my opinion on Ellie’s truck.” Speaking of Ellie made Sam sad again. “Don’t worry, we’re going to find her. Now get dressed. Sasha will be here soon to keep you company.”

I didn’t want to leave Sam. But I can’t figure out what the hell is going on if I stay. So, I left, making my way to the garage. I didn’t know what to expect, but I wasn’t expecting Ellie’s truck to be such a rust bucket. It was

•parked next to Reagan’s specially adapted Dodge Charger.

“Caspian. You’re not getting it. Ellie doesn’t leave things at home. She carries an emergency kit everywhere. Just in case. That’s how she saved me,” he said excitedly. I was going to ask him why she didn’t take everything from the doctor’s bag. If she is so meticulous.

“Guests have started to arrive,” Phillip informed us.”

Xander has sent you some pictures from Richard’s location. He apologizes for the delay. He wanted to take them in daylight. Just in case there was something he couldn’t see in the dark.”

I knew it wouldn’t be long until I needed to talk to Sam.But I needed to see the pictures from Xander. What if Richard was killed by the same people who tried to kill Reagan? What if they are coming here in an attempt to kill me or Sam? Knowing this, Reagan, Phillip, and I headed to my office.

When we got there, Evelyn was sitting in my chair, swinging herself from side to side. Thad no idea why she was here. My office is off limits to everyone but Reagan and me. “Get out of here,” Reagan yelled at Evelyn. But she didn’t move.

“I have something I need to discuss with Caspian.” She leaned back in the chair, smiling. “In private.”

“Anything you want to say to me? You can say it in front of them. But Reagan’s words still stand. Get out,” I said as I walked across the room. If she wouldn’t go of her own accord. I would make her.

“Fine,” Evelyn said, getting to her feet. She walked around my desk and leaned against it. She then looked at the three of us and smiled. “Caspian, you can’t mark anyone.” Her words made me scoff. Who the hell does she think she is to tell me who I can and can’t mark? Is she for real? “You can’t, Caspian. I’m pregnant, and guess who the father is.”
