Alpha’s Betrayal Luna’s Revenge (Samantha) novel Chapter 8

Garth’s POV

“What’s going on here?” Lily called out as she entered the kitchen. I didn’t hear the door swing open, but then again, I was distracted.

Not looking at Lily and focusing solely on Samantha, “I found Samantha. Jaxon had her trapped in the interrogation room and hurt her badly. She’s on the brink of death.”

“Oh, goddess. How could Jaxon do such a thing?” Lily said in a shocked tone. Her voice was full of concern. She rushed over and held Samantha’s hand. “Samantha, it’s Lily. I’m here for you.” She said comfortingly. “What are you doing?” Lily then asked me. I was about to answer her when Cal yelled as loudly as he could that he could sense Zola.

I wanted to cheer, but I was drained and could only let out a sigh of relief. Samantha now has a chance. I felt dizzy as I stood, and, predictably, Cal felt weak. “Zola’s awake,” I told Lily, who gasped and rushed to stroke Samantha’s forehead. “I need to get Axel home to protect her,” I pointed at Samantha as I leaned on the countertop.

“Axel is in a neighboring pack. I’ll text him and tell him to come home immediately. But it won’t be for a few hours.” She pulls out her mobile phone and begins tapping on it.” Oh goddess, Jaxon’s in charge of the pack until he gets back.” Lily looks like she is thinking, “If he did this to her, he would finish her before she could tell anyone what he had done. I’ll call Jaxon to return to the packhouse. I will distract him long enough for you to escape with Samantha.”

I nodded my head frantically in agreement. I had to keep Samantha safe. I am the Gamma; I protect the Alpha’s fated mate. When I agreed to that position, I vowed to protect the Luna, even from those who outrank me.

Lily threw a small blanket over Samantha to keep her warm, and I carried her to an SUV outside. After placing her carefully in the back seat, I knew I needed to get her out of the pack as quickly as possible. Lily threw another blanket over Samantha so that she couldn’t be seen. ” Jaxon is on his way,” Lily informed me. She’s a good friend to Samantha. Putting herself in harm’s way like this to help me get Samantha out of the pack.

As I took the driver’s seat, I questioned whether I should drive, as I felt woozy. But as long as I let Cal rest, I should be okay for a short while. As I drove, Samantha began to groan in pain. “Samantha, I’m getting you to safety. Just hold on,” I told her.

“Garth?” Samantha weakly managed to say. It felt good to hear her voice, but now is not the time. I told her to hide under the blanket for her safety. The roads were clear until we neared the pack’s entrance. I could see that there was a barricade was in place. Regardless, they shouldn’t stop me. I am the pack’s Gamma. With Axel being out of the pack, l am second in command.

I opened the window. “Let me pass,” I instructed Peter, head of the border patrol.

“No can do, Garth. We have orders not to let you out,” I distract him long enough for you to escape with Samantha.”

“What do Ido, Cal?” I asked my wolf, who was still weak.

“We protect the Luna. That’s our job.” He told me. I closed my eyes and acknowledged what he meant.

ran my hands through my hair and tugged the blanket to see Samantha’s face. “Samantha, no matter how painful it is, you need to shift. Shift and let Zola protect you. Zola, if you can hear me. We’ve been set up. You need to get Samantha out of here. Get her to safety and live a happy Life. She deserves that.” I gripped the door handle. “I will buy you as much time as I can. But it won’t be much, as we are still weak.” I told them before I pushed open the door of the SUV and stepped out. “Go,” I said quietly over my shoulder. Hoping that no one noticed Samantha’s presence in the back seat.

As Samantha opened the door, I yelled, disguising any sound she made. When there was a thud, I slammed the door loudly and caused a scene. Giving her a chance to get away.

“It’s a gamma’s job to protect the Luna, no matter who the threat is from.” Cal reminded me as he shifted. I could hear Gunner’s howl in the distance. “The threat is coming,” Cal said, knowing our death was imminent. Cal stood proudly as the wolves surrounded us.A few minutes later, Gunner came into view. “Every second counts,” Cal said.

“Every second counts, my friend. Every second gives her time to get away.”I responded before he blocked me out.
